He’s 18 🥹 I’ve talked about this day since I found out I was pregnant. I’ll be 36, when he’s 18. If only I would’ve known how fast it would be here.

Kean you’re one the best things that has ever happened to me. In alot of ways we grew up together, I know there are probably many things I could’ve done differently… but I am so proud of you, I love our conversations(you make me laugh like no one else), I love your heart, I love to hear the things you’re passionate about. I know the world is screaming at you asking what you’re going to do, what you’re going to be. Just quiet the noise, be present and enjoy this. You’re so young, have so much life and learning to do. Just know I will always be here, always!
I hope that you understand how beautiful of a person you are, and that you know how much you’re capable of. Always believe it baby boy. I love you too much ❤️

My friend showed me this IG page that spoke about social media, art, consumerism all that… and one thing that really stuck out to me.. was that the reason why you may have a love/hate relationship with social media is because you’re using it wrong. Use it as a tool. That’s it. A tool to show your art, the things your passionate about. Don’t use it for mindless scrolling, to compare, or to make “content” make art. Share what you love, not what you think everyone else will love.
I understand that when you have a business, branding is important. But somehow in the midst of trying to have a brand, an estheticly pleasing IG, making content… I feel like we’ve lost the point. I don’t want to be a brand, I don’t want to be making sales pitches, it leaves me feeling empty.
I want to get back to what I love. And that’s making art. I’m a firm believer that when you put your authentic self out there, your people will find you.

Getting older sometimes scares me, other times I see it as such a beautiful thing. When I see that I’m understanding myself better, knowing I’m not one dimensional. I am not just a makeup artist, not just a mom, not just a wife… (obviously very important parts of my life) but I’m wanting to treat this year and every year as an opportunity to learn more about myself and the people I love, and to try new things that make my heart pitter patter ❤️
