Its all about fluidity of the fascia!
Fascial tissue degenerates if it is not exercised 💪 🧬
When fascia matts up and sticks together, it restricts our muscle function because the bundles of fiber are no longer able to slide past each other properly.
This also interferes with the smooth transfer of energy from one muscle to the next, which in turn affects our coordination.
This reduces the fluidity of our movements and uses up more energy.
Our posture takes a hit too, as the reduced elasticity of the matted tissue makes us stiff.

The human fascial network is, in fact, our richest sensory organ.
The estimated number of nerve endings in the body-wide fascial system is 250 million, compared with the estimated 200 million nerve endings in the skin.
Andrew Taylor Still, the founder of osteopathy, wrote that, “No doubt nerves exist in the fascia . . .” and suggested all fascial tissues should be treated with the same respect as if dealing with “the branch offices of the brain.”
