"I'll just buy it off of Amazon!" ๐ง
We ๐ Amazon... just not for hair products. But why?
1. Counterfeit Products ๐ฏ
Companies like Amazon have faced issues with counterfeit products being sold on its platform, including beauty and hair care items. These counterfeits might look ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ก to the genuine products but can be harmful to your hair and skin due to unknown ingredients.
2. Expired Products โ
Problems like this arise because there is no regulation on how these products are handled by customers. As soon as a product is opened, and bacteria is introduced, the shelf life of the product has started (think of it like pasta sauce: it can sit in your pantry for a long time, but as soon as its opened, it needs to be used within a certain period of time). If you are not the first person to open the product, there is no way of knowing how long these items are good for.
3. Resold Products ๐
The products can be returned and resold. ๐๐ง๐ค๐จ๐จ. Itโs bad enough that customers often touch, smell, and test these products in the stores, but there is essentially ๐ฏ๐๐ง๐ค ๐๐ช๐๐ง๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐ that the product you would be buying hasnโt be returned by another customer.

Starting September 1st, I am officially taking over as owner of Arbor Vitae Salon located in the old train depot near downtown.
