Spoolie – Provide your clients with a spoolie which is used to detangle or comb though the lashes. It is easier to get the spoolie through the lashes than fingers. The spoolie will help the client maintain their lashes.

Makeup – It is possible to wear makeup with lash extensions, but it should be oil free. Makeup products with oil weaken the adhesive which bonds the extensions to the natural lashes. Waterproof mascara should also be avoided as it is hard to remove from lash extensions and can even damage the extensions. Eyeliner pencils should also be avoided as they sometimes contain oils. Drawing a pencil across the lash line causes tension which can weaken the adhesive; it is best to use a liquid liner.

Cleaning – Advise your clients of a proper cleaning routine. A good cleaning routine will not only extend the life of the extensions but will also help maintain good eye health. If makeup is not removed properly it can cause an inflammation of the eyelids due to the buildup of bacteria. Clients should use oil-free eye makeup removers. Rubbing the eyes with cotton pads, cotton balls or makeup wipes can damage the extensions.

Sleeping – Clients should sleep on satin pillowcases. This will prevent the lash extensions from getting caught on the cotton or other fibers.
