If you want your curls to last, prep and finishing matters!

I curled my hair, and now I’ve given it a heavy layer of working spray and then I’ll let it cool until I get to work (45 minutes) and then I’ll brush it out and apply a little oil.

29 years later, I am so thankful my dad hauled me out of bed to help him at the salon that day.

There’s been a lot of trial and error, a lot of hard work and a LOT of shampoo and conditioner.

And every bit of it has made me who I am today and I’m so proud of that.

Thanks Dad for letting me join the business with you all those years ago and helping me create this wonderful life I live 💕

Happy 29 years at the shampoo bowl to me ✨

Stress? What’s that? 🥴

Stress can cause so many challenges for our body and brains.

Other than quitting our jobs and moving to a remote island to read books and lay on the beach to reduce our stress- it’s important we find little ways to help support ourselves.

Brushing your scalp is key to hair health because it keeps your scalp healthy!

Your scalp ages 14 times faster than your face! What are you doing to care for it?

Just like your teeth- I recommend two brushing a day minimum!

Here’s to all the teachers who work long hours and are exhausted by the time they get to their appointments and then we ask them a million questions 😆

She was ready for a full-on PINK moment—with a plan for a blonde summer!

The consultation is everything. Not just the first appointment, but every appointment—even when you know the client really well.

I want to make sure we’re truly on the same page, so I ask more questions instead of assuming I understand. And it’s also important to discuss a plan, so what we do today moves you closer to where you really want to be in the long term.

So come along with me while we figure out this hair appointment.

Not pictured: a lot of laughter during the service and multiple Coke zeros being consumed to stay awake

So as a GLP1 user, I can honestly say that hair loss is a frequent side effect to going on the shot. But it doesn’t have to be!

Several pieces of the puzzle have to work together and how we care for our body (really on or off the shot) truly matters!

First step- make sure you’re getting plenty of protein and vitamins and nutrients! The shot can make you eat significantly less and frequently. It means you’re getting less nutrients than your body actually needs. It also can impact your taste buds and how you feel and often that means you’re eating foods that aren’t great for your body in the big picture.

So I strongly recommend making sure you’re getting plenty of protein and taking good supplements not just for your hair but for your whole body!

Stay tuned for more suggestions

Ps. Why do my eyebrows look SOOO WEIRD 👀 send help

Can’t stop, won’t stop UNTIL ITS ALL DRY!!

Finish your blowout strong by making sure all sections are completely dry and using the same section size and round brush tension everywhere!

Naturally, most peoples density of hair is thickest in the back; so by the time we get to that top section, we are tired, our arms hurt and we are ready to go do something else. But cutting corners on your top section isn’t where it’s at!

Pro tip: dry your top sections and your front sides first if you know you get lazy at the end! Give it your best energy first before finishing the back!

Anytime you use heat on your hair, you should be using some form of a heat protectant!
Not using it can cause breakage, color changes (goodbye vibrant reds or fun colors!) and truly dry out your hair. I’ve seen it ruin hair extensions!

Products aren’t the enemy- they actually should help you live your best hair!
