What a great morning at Show Me Referrals!

We kicked things off by celebrating our Notable Networkers for the month of May. A huge congratulations to Sean, James, Jennifer, Kaiser, and Jaclyn for being absolute rockstars in our chapter. Your dedication, consistency, and support of fellow members do not go unnoticed!

We also heard from Laura Royse, who shared about her core value of accountability. Accountability is such an important part of BNI because it helps us show up for one another, follow through on our commitments, and build stronger relationships. Whether it is bringing referrals, inviting visitors, or simply being present and engaged, accountability creates trust — and trust is what makes our network so powerful.

Lastly, we had the opportunity to hear from Josh Thompson with Shelter Insurance, who was interviewed by the brave Janice Woods with OnMedia. Josh walked us through real-life scenarios and reminded us how important it is to be proactively prepared when it comes to life insurance.

He shared insight into common situations families face, the different policies Shelter Insurance offers, and highlighted children’s policies, including how they can be transferred when children reach a certain age. Life insurance can be a sensitive and emotional topic, but Josh handled it with so much compassion, knowledge, and care.

Josh also shared why he does what he does, and it was clear how passionate he is about helping people protect the ones they love. Thank you, Josh, for your leadership in our group and for bringing such heart to a heavy but important conversation. We are grateful to have someone so compassionate and trustworthy in our chapter.

What an incredible day celebrating our Mega All-Star Meeting for Show Me Referrals! 🌟

We were honored to be the hosting chapter and loved getting the chance to celebrate the success happening across our area and throughout our region. The energy was contagious, the relationships were flowing, and the room was full of people who truly believe in building each other up.

A special thank you to Angie Posey Johnson for spearheading this event and making the trip to Columbia, and to Casey Buckman for doing an amazing job as our emcee! Huge shoutout as well to our Show Me Referral leadership team, visitor host teams, everyone who helped with setup and teardown, and our two fantastic members who shared powerful testimonials about what BNI means to them. Also Christian fellowship church and their team! Also, Nathan Buxman thanks for making sure it rain smoothly for us all! It truly takes a village! ❤️

We also celebrated our Medallion success for reaching Gold status with 40+ members — yay! 🏆

And we were so proud to recognize our Show Me Referral All-Star, Jaclyn Rogers! Jaclyn truly embodies BNI’s core values: Givers Gain, maintaining a positive attitude, lifelong learning, building meaningful relationships, honoring traditions, and embracing innovation. She consistently steps up, encourages others, and leads with heart.

🎉 Happy 13th Birthday to Show Me Referrals Mid Missouri! 🎉

Today we celebrated 13 wonderful years of connection, referrals, growth, and community. We enjoyed a delicious cake from Wynnsome Cake and Tea and spent the morning reflecting on what makes this group so special.

We started our meeting with Josh sharing about his core value: positive attitude. He spoke about the mindset behind it and how choosing positivity can make a difference in both our personal lives and our businesses.

Our featured speaker this week was Jennifer Wesselman-Conz with State Farm, who holds our Property & Casualty seat in the group. Jennifer has been part of our chapter for a long time and truly holds a special place in our hearts. She consistently shows up, gives back, supports others, and represents what our chapter is all about.

Jennifer spoke with us today about five common insurance gaps and the ways State Farm helps customers stay aware, prepared, and ahead of potential risks.

Rainy days in COMO can’t stop the energy at Show Me Referrals Mid Missouri! ☔️✨ Another fantastic Tuesday morning filled with connection, growth, and supporting local businesses.

Today’s core value spotlight was Lifelong Learning, and Jennifer Blumer did an amazing job sharing how continued growth and learning impacts not only her business, but the strength and success of our group as a whole. There’s always room to grow, improve, and better serve those around us!

Our featured speaker was Jason Gruender with Liberty Family Medicine! Liberty Family Medicine specializes in affordable, membership-based private healthcare with a strong focus on communication, personalized patient care, and a hands-on approach that truly puts patients first.

They’ll also be celebrating 10 years in business this year — an incredible milestone! With locations serving both Columbia and Jefferson City, they continue making quality healthcare more accessible for families in Mid-Missouri.

Today at BNI Show Me Referrals Mid Missouri, we kicked off the meeting hearing from Carrie with Liberty Family Medicine about the core value of Building Relationships and how strong connections help both people and businesses grow. Novy, our Education Coordinator, also reminded us that new leadership nominations are coming soon and encouraged everyone to think about where they can continue showing VCP for themselves and their business! 👏

Today’s featured speaker was Jaclyn Rogers with Ai Painting Plus — “Columbia’s premiere customer service and people development team who just happens to paint houses!” AI Painting Plus offers professional interior, exterior, cabinet, and staining services.

Jaclyn changed things up with a fun game of “Jeopardy” to bring more engagement and energy to her 7-minute presentation. With 40+ members split into two teams, everyone had a blast competing through categories like Know Your Joy, Our Services, Paint Products, Who We Serve, and AI Fast Facts.

It even ended in a tie! A fun and interactive way for members to learn more about AI Painting Plus while having a great time together. 🎉
