I truly live for creating colors the realm. Reds, blondes, too, but for real, the shine and reflection of a multi just is so so good.

And “just doing hair” is now my therapy compared to all of the things I have to focus my attention on. And this special project was so fun! (And yes, that’s my oldest daughter ❤️)

Missed the before? Head to the last posted…. Non-committal brunette switch up after only ever being a blond!

09/21/2025

Switching up summer to autumn faster than Cardi switching up baby daddies over here. (My bad 😆)

I jest, I jest…. Full disclosure, this is my oldest daughter who is a natural dark blond that we have only ever made even blonder. She’s been bugging me about trying out going dark and considering she will be starting hair school soon 😍 I figured I better do this in a way that I know I can get her back to blond easily before she gets cocky and goes and dumps all over permanent color on her own head 🤣 Because I know my girl and she will want to be blond again. 🤪

I carefully mapped out my sectioning for maximum impact but also for a quick and easy application. I refused to consider doing all over color to keep options open. I focused on intentional placement. I only used for the color other than a few around the hair line using …. This entire application took less than 40 minutes to do even though it looks like we spent hours foiling! (She’s got super dense hair and we were on a time budget!) Srylists, whether you are painting lighter or darker, knowing how placement, sectioning and what you don’t actually paint can cut down on application time is HUGE as most guests don’t want to sit for hours and hours!

And clients, there are almost always options! There’s never a goal you can’t achieve! Consultation with your stylist is so important! Knowing your full hair history, your immediate and possible long term goals and also knowing you will take our advice on getting to your goals is 🔑

Thanks again to for the social media knowledge last week. Making me really think on upping the game here.

So what do you all think? Team blonde? Or team brunette? Drop your vote in the comments 👇🏼

Every day of our life may not be significant, but some days of your life have the potential to change the trajectory of your career and personal growth. For me, listening to and meeting and at today in Nashville has been a game changer.

The more we let fear keep us small, quiet, hidden, the more we inhibit tapping into our potential. Be fearless. Be bold. Place your self firmly in rooms even if you feel you don’t belong. Your presence matters too to someone. Be unapologetic about who you are. Be willing to learn and evolve, but not compromise who you are deep down.

I took what I learned today seriously and while some were whispering they didn’t do pictures or didn’t want to embarrass themself, I said F* #% IT, hold my beer. Thanks to these incredible artists and educators for rolling with me.

Day 1 isn’t over but my cup already is spilling over. Thank you and 🥂 to more growth and success!

Why? Because it’s in micro moments or in the act of small gestures, that people often can have BIG, meaningful impact. The difference in a customer service based world between a transaction and an experience are the “small details.” And truthfully, it’s not just a lesson for those in customer service. It’s a way of thinking that can be helpful for relationships, team building, workplace morale, etc.

One day this week, I walked down a main corridor and noticed a small cap from a tube of color on the floor. I picked it up and placed it in the trash. A few minutes later, a stylist called me over to her guest while she was applying her color. She didn’t need anything or have a complaint. This beautiful, older woman simply wanted to tell me she noticed me pick up that cap and remove it from the walkway and commended that. She was sitting there stressing over watching someone come down that hall and trip before it was picked up. I was blown away but how such a simple act of doing such a mundane task meant something to her. Now, look, obviously the moral of this isn’t for applause. The moral of this is you never know how even the most simple gesture is going to positively impact someone’s day. You never know how even the smallest act of being the “somebody” to “do something” is going to be an important moment for someone. So, managers or owners, the next time you push off the “small details,” remember to talk to your team about how even a small gesture can create big impact with a guest. Cleanliness, a smile, eye contact, etc. The next time you, as a team member, think “someone else will do it, that’s not my job” think instead of how you may have made someone’s hard day a little easier and bumped up the cohesion of the team. The next time you, as a friend, simply send a text that says, “just wanted you to know I’m thinking of you.” just know you may have unknowingly talked someone off the edge. The small things really are what build the big picture. One more thought in the comments 👇🏼

Why is so satisfying to look at?

Her hair was being admired before we even finished it and IDK why but wet balayage draped on the bowl is like for eyes. 👀

What is wet balayage you ask? After rinsing her foils and doing a detox treatment, we sectioned out the lengths strategically and applied lightener in a hand painted manner to the lengths of her blond for just a few minutes to help make it pop again after getting dull from hard water, environmental factors and heat styling. Not everyone is a candidate for this.

To everyone that has checked on me this week, thank you. It was an amazing first week in my new role and I’m even more excited at the end of it than I even was at the beginning of it.

Top three bullet points so far.
1.Rome wasn’t built in a day. Take action. But don’t rush the process.

2.Listen more than you speak if you want to really know what’s going on in your business.

3. Sleep is overrated. 🤣
