Don’t get me wrong, your skin can definitely feel and look more hydrated, glowy and calm with just one facial. And getting a facial to treat yourself once in a while is amazing. However if you are trying to target a specific skin concern to see real and true change in the skin a more frequent series of professional skincare treatments is necessary.
Years of sun damage cannot be reversed and removed with one facial. This is the same for fine lines/ wrinkles, acne, dehydration, texture, and hyperpigmentation. It all takes time, consistency , and patience. But with the right at home routine and a dedication to in-office treatment transformation is possible.

How to apply sunscreen correctly and effectively:

1. Start with a thick base layer.
As a rule of thumb, the Skin Cancer Foundation recommends using a shot glass full of sunscreen to cover the entire body, which equates to about a half-teaspoon or nickel-sized dollop to protect the face and neck specifically.

2. For your face, apply sunscreen last.
Sunscreen should be the last step in your morning skincare routine before you apply makeup. That means, you want to put it on after you’ve applied serums and moisturizer. You can opt for a moisturizer with SPF for your face but you still need this base layer of sunscreen even if your makeup has SPF. This is because most foundations only contain SPF 15 or less, and we often don’t apply enough of it for full protection.

3. Spread it out evenly.
If you dispense product into your hands before applying it to your face, chances are, you’ll lose some. To remedy that, use more than what you think you’ll need, and make sure to spread it out evenly. For your body, apply after getting dressed so none rubs off on your clothes.

4. Cover often forgotten areas.
Be sure to protect your hairline or part line on your scalp, your hands, the tops of your feet, ears, and lips.

5. Let it sink in before sun exposure.
This is especially true for chemical sunscreens, which need time to absorb before they’re fully effective. Wait 15 to 30 minutes before stepping outside, just to be safe.

6. Reapply often.
You need to reapply at least every two hours or every 90 minutes, if you can. Reapplying over makeup can be a hassle, which is where a powder SPF or tinted sunscreen comes in handy.

The body requires a certain number of calories to function and maintain health. When you consume more calories than you need, these excess calories are converted to fat the body stores and can lead to obesity. When the body temperature rises and increases energy production, is going through a process called thermogenesis.

Thermogenesis is the process by which the body produces heat accelerating metabolism, body temperature rises, and the fat is used as energy to burn calories. Thermogenesis can be reached through the following methods: a balanced diet, exercise and exposure to cold.
