Did you know lymphatic massage is good for pregnant women ~and~ their babies?
Lymphatic massage can help reduce painful swelling associated with pregnancy, and also promotes lymphatic and blood flow, which helps bring oxygen to the baby. The method I use also stimulates the parasympathetic system and the vagus nerve which calms and relaxes the central nervous systems for both mama and baby. π€

Every single cell in our body is bathed in liquid - blood, interstitial fluid or lymph. Our bodies need these fluids working together to protect and heal us daily. We are walking, talking, moving oceans.
Lymphatic massage is a therapeutic massage technique that helps move these fluids through the bodyβs natural detoxification pathways, stimulating healthy flow and reabsorption of nutrients. Through rhythmic movements, this process helps release accumulated waste, bacteria, and viruses from the connective tissues and stimulates the digestive organs, creating a renewed sense of vitality and well-being in your body and mind. π€
Beyond immediate aesthetic benefits, such as enhanced complexion and reduced puffiness, lymphatic drainage promotes a strengthened immune system and hastened recovery from various ailments, including injuries and surgeries, as well as general recovery and performance enhancement for athletes. Itβs a holistic approach to self-care that harmonizes both body and spirit. π€

I spent a week in Florida studying and practicing a new massage technique called
π€Manual Lymphatic Drainageπ€
I loved every single second of the class and Iβm so excited to offer all of the incredible benefits of this type of massage in my practice. In the late 1900βs, a French physiologist, Claude Bernard, coined the phrase βmilieu intΓ©rieurβ meaning internal environment. His theory supposed that our body had an entire system of fluids that needed to flow consistently in order to maintain equilibrium. This theory was rejected by society for years! Eventually the idea caught on and with it, major advancements in science and understanding our physiology.
Our bodyβs internal environment dictates how we live, move, breathe, exist in this life. Our heartbeats move our blood through our bodies like waves on a shore, thereβs an entire ocean within us that needs constant cleansing, balancing and restoring. Lymphatic massage is a relaxing, holistic way of doing just that.

Lymphatic massage is a rhythmic, gentle massage with light strokes on the surface of your skin. Itβs such a relaxing and calming experience that you might even fall asleep. Or, as one of my clients recently experienced, come up with some creative new work solutions in a mid-massage zen state of mind.

Lymphatic massage doesnβt feel like a muscular massage because the pressure stays light to move the lymph that lies below the skin, but above the muscle.

Did you know you can improve your lymphatic circulation through jumping?!
π€π€π€
However, you donβt have to jump high or land hard. Gentle bouncing on a mini trampoline for just 10 to 15 minutes will stimulate your lymphatic system and get your lymph fluid flowing.
Now if youβre like me and love seeing how high you can bounce on your kidsβ trampoline in the backyard, then by all means, go for it.
Your lymphatic system doesnβt have a pump to move the lymph through your body, so moving and bouncing is one great way to help get it moving through your body so it can clean and cleanse! Even just going on a walk will make a difference.
