Blooming with Abundance and Radiance: Cultivating Inner Harmony and Effectively Managing Stress

Social workers spend so much time caring for others, but how often do we make time to care for ourselves?

Join NASW Ohio and Kentucky on Wednesday, November 11, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. ET for a virtual workshop presented by Tainesha Owens, MSW, LSW.

This session offers an opportunity to reconnect with yourself, reclaim your energy, and explore practical ways to manage stress. Through grounding techniques, reflective practices, and mindset tools, participants will learn strategies for building resilience and finding greater balance in their personal and professional lives.

1 FREE CEU for NASW members! Nonmembers can earn 1 CEU for $10. The session will be held virtually, and a recording will be available.

As a reminder, our intern Cyrus Horsley is still collecting responses for his needs assessment to gather data on social workers’ comfort levels with engaging in political advocacy! You can complete his short survey by scanning the QR code on this post or visiting the link at our LinkTree (pinned at the top of our page)

Volunteer with the YES on Issue 8 campaign on Election Day! NASW OH and Our City, Our Say need your help to talk with voters outside Columbus polling locations and encourage a YES vote on Issue 8 on Election Day. Together, we can make sure all of us have our own council member, elected by residents in each district and directly accountable to us. Polls will be open from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm. If you can help talk with voters during those hours, please go to our Linktree (link in profile) to sign up.

Canton Area students, join Stark State, Malone University, and NASW Ohio Region 8 for an internship fair, today, Thursday, October 29th, from 3:00 pm - 6:30 pm at Stark State College.

On 10/26, NASW Ohio Practice Associate Liam was honored to present a condensed version of our Navigating New Laws training at the ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County's Roads to Recovery conference. Thank you ADAMHS for allowing us to be a part of your day!

Please join us in celebrating Nichole Geibel for being chosen as Lorain County's Advocate of the Year!!! This past year, Nichole has organized protests, rallied the community and held elected leaders accountable. Nichole is a pillar of her county and the NASW community.

The bio given for her award said it best: "Nichole organized each No Kings protest in her area, which brought thousands of people together, and she has worked to ensure communities across Lorain County have opportunities to peacefully protest and make their voices heard. She believes advocacy is about showing up, listening, bringing people together, and standing up for what is right."

A big thank you to The Columbus Foundation for their support in our Navigating New Laws training! Through their support, NASW Ohio was able to provide this training free of charge to 270 Columbus-area behavioral health professionals!
