Tension causes constriction in the tissue. This is one of the causes of headaches. Releasing the constricted area relieves pain in the neck and shoulders along with releasing the headache.

The side that has been worked on show definition to the scapula. The shoulder on the same side is noticeably lower showing more of the neck as well. Massage is beneficial.
