I am absolutely thrilled to announce the opening of my new endeavor: 🌙 Luna Loft ✨

My partner Karly & I began the plans for this salon one year ago. We have had the pleasure of watching our new building being built from the ground up. Literally.

Our heart and soul has gone into creating this warm & welcoming salon space. I cannot wait to share it with you. I know you’re going to love it! 🤩

🚜 Construction is nearly complete. I am currently preparing everything for our move on May 20th! 🚚

I get it, the feeling of that hot water can wash away the stress of the day. 🛀🏼

Truth be told, steaming hot water is one of the most detrimental things to your haircolor. 💀

Hot water opens up the cuticle of your hair, releasing the dye molecules that live inside that hair strand.
Your color may not fade all the way out, but it will definitely fade noticeably faster with that hot water. 🥵

If you want your color to last, protect it!
Heres how:

✅ use a shower cap when using hot water
✅ wash your hair with cool water (the colder the better)
✅ use a professional color preserving shampoo & conditioner

Do your best to turn the heat down when it comes time to wash your hair. Youll be surprised how long your color lasts, and how shiny and healthy your hair will look. 😘👌🏻

Creating a visual for what you want for your hair will help me familiarize the goal, as well as give you peace of mind that you have portrayed exactly what you’re wanting. ✨

📚A book or iPad 📚
Chances are, you’re going to be in my chair for a while. Sometimes scrolling Instagram can get a bit boring after a while. Bring that book you’ve been wanting to start or dive into that TV series you’re binge watching right now. 📺

👚A shirt underneath your hoodie 👚
The bulkiness of the hood can make it difficult to cut your hair as well as get in the way of coloring or shampooing. Make sure to wear something underneath or bring a shirt along to change into.👌🏻

🏠 As you may know, my partner Andrew and I moved during the holiday season. YAY! 👏🏻👏🏻

Trust me when I say the end of 2022 was very interesting and a bit stressful, but at the same time filled with so much joy. 🥰

Here we are at almost the end of January (time is flying!!) and I can finally say I am moved in! Welllllll maybe more like 90% 😅

🎉I am incredibly excited for what is in store for 2023!🎉 There are A LOT of amazing and beautiful things in the works. I know you are going to love it. 💖

Summer is the perfect time to embrace your hair’s texture! ☀️

You might be thinking, “where do I even start?!” 🤔

Here’s a few of the tips I give to my clients to encourage them to nurture their air-dried hair over the summer!

💧Start by incorporating a leave-in conditioner AND an oil for your ends.

💧Lay off the heat! Repeated use of hot tools can damage your hair’s natural curl or wave pattern.

💧Handle your wet hair with care! Use a wide tooth comb or wet brush to detangle your hair instead of a stiff paddle brush.

💧Swap your normal rough towel for a microfiber towel or t-shirt.

These are just a few small changes you can make to see a huge difference in your hair’s natural texture. 👏🏻👏🏻

Vivid colors can last for a long time if your hair care game is 💯

In order to take the best care of your vivid colors at home, you need follow these rules:
🌈 You must wash with ❄️ cool water. Hot water opens the cuticle of your hair, allowing the color to slide right out & go down the drain.
🌈 Use professional color protecting shampoo & conditioner. These high-quality hair care systems have the best ingredients to ensure your color lasting as long as possible.
🌈Lastly, protect your hair from water when not washing. Im talking the beach, pools, the lake, ect. The more often your hair is wet, the more oppertunities your hair color has to fade.
