We are at Target, and some of this stuff is not as harmless as it looks.

Swapping toxins out of your home is a journey. You do not have to replace everything overnight, but you do need to know what to look for on the shelf.

Here commonly shopped items:

- cleaning options that are not just greenwashed
- plain white, lead-free dishware
- certified organic cotton towels and washcloths
- Tencel / lyocell textiles over rayon or viscose
- pillows and kids' items without polyester or memory foam

And here is what I am skipping:

- synthetic pillows
- memory foam
- microfiber sheets
- plushies full of microplastics
- "clean" products with no real label support

The label matters. OEKO-TEX is helpful, but if the item is still polyester, I am not treating that like a true low-tox swap. Natural fiber plus a good certification is the better signal.

Remember, your drinking water, cookware and air are the most important things to change.
Clean air is often removing toxic hair sprays, candles, plug ins etc. I have clean swaps for all of those items.

Take a deep dive and email some of these companies for COAS,any of these Ceramic pan companies say what is not in them, but don't provide a list of what they are made of.
There are companies that do third party testing and provide COAS.
I also can't say that I would purchase all of these items at every Costco because some Costco's carry different brands.
I stick to surgical stainless steel pots and pans, non toxic non stick that doesn't contain teflon or ceramic (unless there are COAs or nontoxic testing.
I also have a clean airfyer and other small appliances that are non toxic.
