When the opportunity came to spend one day at Essence, your girl hopped on that 6am flight from DFW to Nola.
I spent the day learning from inspiring speakers, supporting fellow founders, reconnecting with friends, and even running into one of our Dallas curlfriends. Every conversation was a reminder of why spaces like this matter.
One of my favorite parts of building Striking + Strong has always been the people. The founders who keep showing up. The organizations creating opportunities. And the curlfriends who remind me that this journey is so much bigger than products.
I left inspired, grateful, and already dreaming about what's next.

Today, we honor Juneteenth, a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the enduring strength of a community that continues to shape our nation.
At Striking + Strong haircare, we are especially grateful for the example of Dr. Opal Lee. Long before Striking + Strong was a brand, she embodied what it means to be striking and strong: leading with purpose, serving her community, and refusing to give up on a vision that would benefit generations to come.
Her life reminds us that meaningful change is often built one step, one conversation, and one act of courage at a time.
