As my last day of honoring women for National Latina Week, I want to honor my mom. Before I ever led a business, I watched a master lead a home…my mother.

My mom was a SAHM throughout my entire childhood, but her influence reached far beyond our front door. She raised a family with unwavering devotion, never complaining, always quick to serve. Her hands were never idle, she was always cooking with love, creating a home

She taught me discipline through example: the way she managed a household with precision, the way she stretched resources with wisdom, the way she showed up every single day with quiet strength and love for her family.

Her leadership was rooted in service. Her legacy was built in the daily: folded laundry, home cooked meals, prayers when no one was watching. And that legacy lives in me.

As a business owner, I carry her vision. As a mother, I echo her heart. As a woman, I walk in the strength she modeled. Everything I do from to the way I raised my own children, the way I serve clients is a reflection of her legacy.

Gracias, Amá, your quiet strength taught me how to stand tall. You didn’t just raise me, you modeled what it means to be a woman of inner strength, dignity, and resolve. Because of you, I walk into every room knowing who I am: an independent Latina shaped by love, legacy, and conviction. You showed me that softness and strength can live in the same heart. I carry your example with pride, and I live it out with purpose.

As we continue to celebrate National Latina Week, let me introduce you to my client Jackie, a woman who exemplifies servanthood in every sense. She is a bridge builder, global advocate, and visionary. Her heart for service reaches from the streets of Dallas to the children of South Sudan.

In her own words:

“I am an event planner for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. I am naturally empathetic and find joy in connecting with and supporting others especially our homeless friends in Dallas and children in South Sudan, where I have visited twice.”

What does being Latina mean to you?

“Being a Latina woman means embracing the strength, resilience, and traditions that have been passed down to me. I also believe my multi-cultural background and experiences allow me to see things from a perspective that others may have never considered.”

What does beauty mean to you?

“To me, beauty is more than appearance. It’s confidence in who we are, embracing our individuality, and showing empathy for others.”

Jackie, we celebrate the strength you carry rooted in Latina heritage, lived through service, and passed on as vision to the generations rising behind you!

Today for National Latina Week, I have the honor of spotlighting my client, Cari Hallman.

With over a decade of hospitality marketing experience, Cari has opened 60+ restaurants, led marketing for 300+ outlets, and launched food halls recognized by USA Today. She’s a strategist, a connector, and a woman who leads with excellence and heart. Cari lives in North Texas with her husband and two children.

Her story reminds us that heritage is lived and that beauty begins with how we care for ourselves and others. In her own words:

What it means to be Latina:

“My father was Puerto Rican, and I remember dancing salsa and merengue in my grandparent’s kitchen while we fried plantains and steamed pasteles. My Latin roots gave me my love of cultural diversity, food and music. It opened my eyes to a more ‘global’ world.”

What beauty means to me:

“Beauty comes from the heart. It’s how you feel about yourself regardless of what your hair, makeup or body looks like and how you look at others with compassion and understanding. But it’s also a beautiful thing to take care of your body, it’s the only one you’ll ever have, and it deserves to be treated like a temple.”

Cari, thank you for sharing the richness of your heritage. Today, we honor you and the path you’re paving for the next generation of Latinas to rise with confidence while staying rooted in their legacy.

Day 2 of National Latina Week:

Today we honor Luci, a Latina whose life is anchored in Christ, overflowing with purpose, and lived with deep intentionality. She leads with love, lives generously, and embodies the kind of beauty that is cultivated through faith and family!

“My identity in Christ is the foundation of who I am and everything else flows from that truth. I have been married for 24 years to my best friend and boyfriend for life. I have poured my heart and soul into raising our children 3 with love, purpose, and faith.
I live generously with my time, my resources, and my heart. Hospitality is one of my joys; I take care of my people!
I am a textbook firstborn but I’ve also learned the grace of letting go and relaxing in the moment. I am unapologetically thoughtful, not afraid to confront hard things, but always with the goal of reconciliation, not division. I pray daily that my faith never fails, and I walk free from the weight of bitterness. My life isn’t perfect, but it’s real, rooted, and deeply committed to the people and purpose God has given me.”

What It Means to Be a Latina

“To be a Latina is to carry pride in my brown skin, my culture, and where I come from. It means family is everything, love is shown through action, and strength runs deep in our roots. I live with passion, speak with heart, and hold tight to the legacy of those who came before me.”

What Beauty Means to Me

“Beauty is natural, peaceful, and comes from within. I actually feel most beautiful when I am sweating from working out! Not perfect, but authentic. A quiet confidence, a kind spirit, and a heart at peace… that’s real beauty to me.”

Today, we honor Luci for her faith, her fierce love, and her unapologetic Latina spirit. She embodies what it means to live rooted, radiant, and real.

Today we honor my client Fatima—a nurse, mother, and community advocate whose story reflects the heart of National Latina Week.

“I’m a 40-year-old Latina and the proud mom of an adorable 3-year-old. I’ve been a registered nurse for nine years. I’m grateful to be part of the small but growing number of Latina nurses—just 7% in the U.S.—and among the 5% who work in the ER.

Family time is what I treasure most! One a month, I volunteer as a bilingual nurse at a community clinic in Dallas, where I help care for indigenous and uninsured families.

What does being Latina mean to you?
Being Latina means honoring tradition, speaking Spanish with pride, and moving forward with resilience.

What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty, to me, is anything that sparks a sense of joy or positivity within us.

Fatima, we honor and celebrate you as you make an impact—first in your home, raising your daughter to be a fearless Latina; in your community, where you give your time to help others be heard and cared for; and in your profession, where you serve with skill, compassion, and quiet strength.

Your presence is powerful and your legacy is already unfolding.

Celebrating National Latina Day (Week)

This week, I’m honoring the everyday leaders—my clients—who embody the spirit of Latina pride and have boldly paved paths for future generations.
These women are entrepreneurs, first responders, first-gen graduates, creatives, executives, and changemakers. They carry cultura in their hearts and vision in their futures.

Each day, I’ll feature one of these trailblazers—women who are building, dreaming, and leading with purpose. Their stories are rooted in heritage and resilience.

Being Latina isn’t just about presence—it’s about legacy.

Stay tuned as we celebrate mujeres who are shaping the future, one fearless step at a time.
