Damn, it feels good to be a gangsta
This was my last weight workout of my 40s. On New Yearās Eve, I made one promise to myself: prioritize my health and build muscle. Not to chase a number on the scale, but to build a body that will carry me well into the next decade. There were busy days, stressful days, and days I didnāt feel like showing up. But I kept choosing me. As I walk into 50, Iām not trying to turn back the clock. Iām trying to make the years ahead as strong, healthy, and vibrant as possible. Hereās to entering a new decade with more muscle, more confidence, and a lot of gratitude. šŖāØ
The insurance companies and endless charting may burn me outā¦ š š„ while juggling family and protein goals⦠My amazing coworkers and the sweet patients fill my cup every single day. š¤ Thatās what keeps me coming back.
If your rash cream contains a potent steroid + antifungal combo, make sure you know the diagnosis first.

what a privilege to be tired from the job you once prayed for.
i mean that.
24 years as a PA and i still pinch myself. but gratitude doesnāt mean you donāt feel the weight of the trade-offs ā the missed moments, the mental load that doesnāt clock out, the people you wish you had more of yourself to give.
holding both doesnāt make you ungrateful. it makes you honest.
ā still showing up. still grateful.
Weighted vest. smoothie. Friend time. Turns out this is a prescription. Dr. Mary Claire Haver hosted psychiatrist Dr Sue Varma on her podcast recently and it hit hard ā even micro connections matter. A five-minute conversation. A walk with someone you love. It counts. It all counts. Midlife women especially ā weāre notorious for quietly dropping our friendships while we hold everyone else together. Healthcare providers, moms, caregivers ā weāre the worst at this. Your skin needs collagen. Your soul needs connection. Neither is optional. š«¶š»
Filmed this while my food was cooking because peri/menopause skin doesnāt wait. Estrogen was your skinās silent business partner. You didnāt know until she dipped.
I did it⦠I slept in my makeup š¬ Even healthcare peeps have off nights. But rememberāyour skin keeps receipts. āMy face didnāt know I wasnāt dancing all nightā⦠but clogged pores always do š
Smoothie ice cream. Bone broth. A salad that slaps. Dark chocolate.
No, Iām not on a diet. Iām a menopausal Derm PA who knows what food does to your skin ā and Iām not playing games with inflammation.
Protein. Creatine. Fiber. Collagen. Antioxidants. All before dinner.
Eat like you mean it.
