Scalding showers may feel relaxing, but if you're being real with yourself, they aren't worth it. That almost-too-hot-to-touch water can actually strip your hair of essential oils, which can leave it feeling drier and looking duller. So, the next time you step into the shower, adjust the temperature. Lukewarm water is just as effective at getting you clean, without being quite as harsh on your hair.

Note: The hot water you love so much? It's also doing your skin a disservice! If you notice your complexion is dry, your steamy showers could be to blame.

If you're struggling with nailing your winged eyeliner look (also, hi, same, I feel you), try drawing the outline of the shape first and then filling it in. Extend a line beyond your lower lash line to create the bottom of your cat eye first. Then, decide on the thickness you want for your wing, and trace the top line from the end point of your flick to your upper lash line. Once you have the shape mapped out on both sides and everything looks symmetrical, fill in the open space.

Model Joan Smalls told us her secret for longer lashes and healthy hair is in a DIY concoction she makes with natural ingredients. "I do a mix of castor oil, coconut oil, lavender oil, and put it on a brush and apply it to my eyelashes and my hair edges for extra moisture," she says. "Since I'm constantly putting so much makeup on my face, I try to do this every day."

This beautiful look uses purple, black and pink. Those of you with light eyes will perhaps love this edgy style of smokey eye. However, it looks pretty on all eye colors.

What You Need
Light purple eyeshadow
Plum eyeshadow
Blush pink eyeshadow
Black eyeliner pencil
Flat brush
Blending brush

How To Apply Plum Smokey Eye Makeup?
Prime and prep your eyes and start by applying the light purple shade of eyeshadow on your eyelid.
Line your upper lashline while holding the pencil as close to the lashline as possible.
Apply the plum eyeshadow towards the outer corner of your eyelid and blend it along with the eyeliner.
For the crease, use the blush pink eyeshadow.
With the blending brush, blend out the colors for a seamless effect.
Using the black eyeliner pencil, define your lower waterline and smudge this out with an angled brush for a smokey effect.
Add a hint of highlighter in the inner corner of your eye.
Curl your eyelashes and apply two coats of mascara to lift up your eye instantly.
You can play around with a different set of colors as well. The trick here is to blend properly and to use eyeshadows that are pigmented enough.
