As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, Pride has always been a meaningful time to celebrate authenticity, self-expression, and the incredible diversity that makes our city so special.

We need to stop calling aesthetic medicine “cosmetic.” 🛑

Because when something is labeled cosmetic… it’s often not held to the same standard as medicine.

And that’s where the risk begins.

This is one of the fastest-growing areas in healthcare but growth without standardization creates variability in training, outcomes, and ultimately… patient safety.

This isn’t just about aesthetics. 💉

This is about medicine. 👨🏻‍⚕️

As Director of Provider Training at SkinSpirit, my focus is building structured, evidence-based training that ensures providers are practicing safely, consistently, and at a high level.

Presented my DNP project at the Western Institute of Nursing Conference in San Francisco. 💚

Surrounded by strong, evidence-based work across nursing from BSN to PhD level one thing became very clear: aesthetic medicine is still underrepresented in academic and standardized training spaces. 💉

I was the only one presenting in this area!

Not because the field isn’t growing but because we haven’t fully integrated into these conversations yet.

If we want aesthetic medicine to be recognized as a true medical specialty, we have to show up, contribute to the data, and help define what evidence-based training should look like.

That’s the work!

This is the city where my journey truly began when I was a student at San Francisco State University, navigating life as an immigrant and learning, day by day, what was possible through education, hard work, and resilience.

Now, years later, I’m incredibly proud to return in a new role as Director of Provider Training

This next chapter means a lot to me.

It’s about continuing to grow as a clinician and educator while helping elevate the standard of care in aesthetic medicine through a strong focus on safety, education, and natural, balanced results.

And I’m excited to now be seeing patients here in San Francisco at our Presidio Heights location.

Still processing this weekend…

My first time at The Medical Spa Show was everything I hoped for and more. From the conversations to the connections, it was a reminder of how much intention and responsibility we carry in this field.

What stood out most wasn’t just the education it was the people. The support, the openness, and the willingness to share and grow together. That kind of energy is what moves our industry forward.

Grateful to be surrounded by a community that leads with purpose and excited for what’s ahead as I step into this next chapter. 💚
