I am sorry to inform you that I am out on medical leave until January. I have a torn Achilles tendon and unable to work for now. I will let everyone know when I am healed and ready to get back to work!

I’m back!

Been a fun but exhausting week teaching adaptive kayaking to disabled veterans in Key Largo, Fl

This year is 16 years with Team River Runner. I love the opportunity to introduce veterans to kayaking as a tool to help them on their journey to overcome fears and obstacles to better health and healing. We help veterans from all eras of service with any disability. I love that when we are in a kayak, they are no longer identified by their disability as no one notices that they’re blind or missing legs or anything else. At that moment in time, we are all just kayakers.

This week I watched them overcome tremendous fear of the water, insecurities in their own abilities, self isolation, depression and anxiety. This week we gained trust in each other, new friendships, confidence and renewed spirit.

So now I’m back and ready to get back to work helping you!
