It’s not about loyalty to me, it’s about the fact that I’ve created a safe haven for a service that requires a strong level of vulnerability on a consistent level. I have created smooth experiences for first time clients, I have also changed the game for women who have had horrible experiences, which leads me to say….

I’ve gained so many clients recently for Brazilian waxing, which is shaping some major changes in the studio here in the near future.

I am always happy to welcome new clients, but it truly breaks my heart to hear and see the aftermath of prior waxes from other technicians + some of the poor excuses as to why these women have endured such pain. We’re talking chunks/patches of skin missing, burns, and bruising, etc.

To be told that it’s normal to have skin missing, is a lie. To be told that it’s a “common misconception” that leg waxing will not leave you butter-soft, is also just false. To be told that it’s normal to lose skin and just ice the area, is far from normal. Having injuries like that from a wax is everything but normal. A combination of poor technique and cheap products are the direct result of any issues listed above.

You will never leave my studio burned, bruised, or crying.

Don’t tell clients they won’t get butter soft from leg waxes because that’s something you haven’t mastered yet. My clients leave my studio feeling like a silk purse & they return every 4 weeks for that reason. Speed is not my focus, comfort and accuracy is. Every person is different & every wax is treated as such.

There is a level of trust that women put in our hands when they step into our room for this type of service, the least we can do is be honest and transparent, even when we mess up.

I have posted this on my old Facebook, but not yet to my new one. I have tried to sell the dress my parents purchased after Jake and I got engaged a million years ago. We obviously decided to buy a house, twins happened, wedding got postponed. It’s now been so many years since the dress was purchased, and never used. I was sent to us in February of 2018, brand new and has not been touched.

I will never use this dress. When I ordered it I was 118 pounds and 2 cup sizes bigger. No amount of cheeseburgers or padding will ever make this dress fit like it should. It is a size 8. I am a 0. Therefore it can’t be altered that low. For size reference, I was 118lbs when I tried this on and my bust size was around a 36C. I am also 5’3.

Please share this post if you know a bride looking for a dress. I am willing to sell it for cheaper than was paid in order for it to finally get the use it deserves. When I purchased this dress I was in the middle of losing weight from gallbladder removal and had no clue I would continue to shed weight so much. When my dress arrived brand new that February (ordered in August) I was a 00 and it FELL to the floor because it doesn’t even stay zipped around me. It can’t be altered down that many sizes.

It’s been stored in a nice closet, well wrapped and protected from any dust, hair, etc. There’s never any smoke of any kind around it. It’s just brand new, hanging in its bags and waiting to be loved.

When you get a brand new client, that’s also getting her first wax ever, and she tells you she would’ve canceled her appointment had she not been required to put a deposit down, due to fear of the pain. Then you get a review like this. When I tell you, you are in the best hands, I mean it. Yes, there is pain associated with waxing, but it can be extremely minimized when you are going to the proper technician. I’m late to making this post, but I’m still doing it!

1 year ago today, I decided it was time to take a chance on myself and open up my own esthetic studio. For almost a year now I’ve been able to say “if you told me a year from now you would own your own business, I would’ve laughed at you.” That’s truly how I felt. Through school and while working my first year in a salon, I never pictured it for myself. I always said I never wanted any part of handling taxes or ordering products, or any of the “hard” work that comes with owning a business.

Oh how silly of me. How limiting that mindset is. Making the decision to go off on my own, has been hands down the best one of my life yet. I strongly encourage everyone, all of the time, to go on their own. The happiness that it has brought to me cannot be articulated. The benefits outweigh the stress by far! I have learned so much this last (almost) year and I still have so much to learn.

The freedoms are endless! Making your own schedule and any accommodations necessary, is one of the strongest pluses for me. Instilling strong boundaries and polices to protect your business and loyal clients. Being able to choose whatever products you are interested in, adding on services you’re passionate about or taking services off of your menu that no longer serve you! Personalizing your studio to your liking and being able to dress however you like! The list goes on! It’s just been such a life changing move in the most positive way.

Has it also been hard? Yes! Have I cried a couple times? Absolutely. Am I growing successfully and thriving through it all? You’re damn right I am. I am so humble. I remind myself all the time that I have came a long way. I have a lot of people to thank for that and I am extremely grateful for everyone who has supported me and helped me get here, it wouldn’t be possible without any of you. I truly look at my life a lot lately and am shocked that it’s even mine. I never pictured myself being successful this way. That might be a little bit sad to say, but I truly have always worked hard and it’s always been with a capped income at some point.

There is no cap now. It’s just up from here, that I truly believe in my heart. If you’ve made it this far and you need that push to go on your own, take it from me and just do it. You’ll be so glad you did. ❤️
