This client had been using a level 3N for years, which creates a very solid, opaque base. To start reintroducing dimension, we began with teasy lights to softly break through that first layer without compromising the integrity of her hair.

At this session (about 7.5 weeks of grow-out with a fully faded toner), we safely relifted the underlying warmth and refined it into the tone you see in the final result.

Lifting previously colored hair is a process; color doesn’t lift as predictably as natural hair, and managing warmth is key. Every head of hair responds differently, which is why a customized, session-based approach is so important.

Only two sessions in, and maintaining the health of her hair remains the top priority ✨

Stop piling conditioner on your ends and ignoring your mid-shaft. That “middle” section is one of the most fragile parts of your hair, and it’s where most breakage actually starts 👀

Next wash day, work your conditioner through the mid-lengths first, then smooth what’s left onto the ends. Your hair will thank you 🤍
