SAVE YOUR DRYERS!!!

I just want to remind everyone to check the brushes in your dryer about every 6 months or so. The brushes should last approximately 600 hrs but there are many variables that can affect that number in either direction. You don't want to run the brushes down to not working. The worn brushes trying to make contact can damage the part on the motor that the brushes ride on. The entire spinning part is the armature. The part that the brushes ride on is the commutator. Worn brushes can damage the commutator, resulting in the necessity of replacing the damaged motor.

Here are a couple VERY important points: 1. If your dryer does not turn on for any reason, STOP. Don't try any further and call for repairs. 2. Any sudden increase in carbon dust - STOP and call for repair.

If you attempt repairs yourself, do not forget to clean the hose of any remaining carbon dust.

Be sure to USE and CLEAN the filters regularly.

Be sure the drying area is relatively cool. Using the dryer in a HOT environment will greatly increase the discharge temperature.
