Guess what?! Yep, time for another update ♥️

From Megan herself:
Hi—I hope you are all doing well!!!!

The decision has been made that I will undergo surgery for a total gastrectomy. This will 100% eliminate all chances that I will develop gastric stomach cancer. With the gene that was discovered with my cancer diagnosis, the chances of developing breast cancer and gastric stomach cancer are high and with already having breast cancer and beating that—we are choosing the surgery and eliminating the risk of the other cancer as well. Brendan and I will be leaving for Houston Nov 20 and will be there for about two weeks for surgery and recovery.

With that being said, I will still not be returning to the salon quite yet. The expected recovery time is anywhere from 6-12 weeks. Every body heals differently and learning how to properly get nutrients into my body without a stomach—well, this will all take a little time. Luckily I will be working with a great team at MD Anderson and will be pumped full of knowledge and tools to get back to healthy and normal (new normal) life!

I sincerely appreciate all of you and I appreciate your concern and prayers! I will be letting you all know when I will be returning to the salon. In the meantime take care and God Bless each and every one of you! -With love, Megan Wright 🤍
