OBC is owned and operator but Olivia Gemmell and will be expanding its service providers in Jan 2025! Olivia Van Pelt is a military wife and lover of all things beauty! She enjoys making her guests feel special while in her chair and loves for them to leave with the biggest smile on their face!

I will be out of the salon from Wednesday, May 6th to Friday, May 15th!!
I am beyond excited to get a real break from everything ! If you have been in, you know the last almost 9 months have been insanely busy between my BTC schedule to opening salons and all the things in between!
I am heading to Sweden with my best friend and I am so excited to bring you guys back all the stories from our travels! It’s going to be such a beautiful trip!
If you need ANYTHING in the next week, ._, and will be here to help you with everything!!

Yall, it’s been a MINUTE! So I wanted to pop on and at a couple things!
SLAYED our photoshoot!! Cannot wait to share more!! (My social game has been off with the busy season I’m in) it just is all so effortless and on brand with the new vibes of my rebrand 😝

4 years ago last week, I packed my entire life into a U-Haul, moved back into my parents house all to stay following MY dreams. I spent a week getting settled and getting the salon ready and then opened 3/11/2022.
The last four years have been some of the best and most challenging I have been through. It is so beyond scary to be a small business owner, especially in our political climate. But every year, we have grown and grown!
This past year specifically, I had the pleasure to not only continue to mentor , but I got to bring on ._ as well! I am beyond thankful to have such an amazing lil team. If there was ever a doubt in my mind that this is where I am meant to be, these girls quell it. I am so privileged to get to be their mentor. They are going to do amazing things.
I could not have gotten through this year without the most amazing people holding me up. You all know who you are and idk where we would be without your love and support. The community we have through OBC is one of the things I am most proud of.
Thank you all for the constant love and support. Living the dream this past year has been stressful and overwhelming at times. But I love to remind myself that this was stuff I used to only dream of. And I cannot wait to keep hitting my goals and achieving all my biggest dreams ❤️

Edie Rants Pt 1: Skiing
This is my new fave thing. If you have been in the salon, you know LOVES a rant sesh, this is one from this past week and I got so many giggles I could not not share 😂
I made the girlies come in Sunday to film some content and we had SO MANY laughs and not a whole lot of content 😂😂😂 what do you want me to say? We tried and here is one where we legit just couldn’t get it but it’s fine, we had fun and that’s all that matters

As many of you I’m sure are aware, there is a strike happening tomorrow in response to the unfortunate events that happened in Minnesota this past week.
The whole idea is no school, no work, no shopping.
My main rule for myself when dealing with politics and business is that when I feel called to have effect, I will speak out. However,The basis of my job, and why I do what I do, is to take care of you. And I feel I do that best with a little separation from the outside world. I feel exercising this care and cultivation of community in a time of uncertainty is crucial for both my clients and my livelihood as a small business owner. This is with the full intention of knowing EVERYONE deserves a safe space. Everyone deserves a place where they can go, leave their outside worries at the door and just be in the moment of care for themselves.
With all that being said, we will not be officially closed tomorrow, however, my way of honoring the strike is by keeping you comfortable. If you have an appointment tomorrow and would like to reschedule, I will not be charging last minute cancellations. I also will offer an option to have delayed checkout. That way, we are not stimulating the economy on Friday.
I also want to say that I have let Edie and Cassie know that I am putting this out and that they are free to handle this situation in whatever way they feel best suits them. I never want to put my beliefs and morals on them, and truly allow them to be as authentic as they can, in all aspects of their business.
Thank you all for hearing me. I hope you find this message with grace, and feel my true intentions. I hope you all find moments of peace in the chaos.
