Polycystic O***y Syndrome, formerly known as PCOS, has been renamed PMOS: Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome. This updated terminology reflects a broader understanding of the condition as one involving ovarian, endocrine, and metabolic factors—not simply “cysts” on the ovaries.

For the electrology profession, this evolving understanding is important. Hirsutism remains one of the most common concerns associated with PMOS, and electrologists frequently work with clients seeking long-term hair removal solutions.

The transition from PCOS to PMOS is an evolving change, with implementation into clinical guidelines and broader practice expected to continue through 2028.

As research and terminology continue to evolve, staying informed helps ensure our profession remains educated, aware, and prepared to support individuals affected by this condition.

Suzanne has called Telluride home for the past 5 years and recently returned to New York City to complete her esthetics schooling before coming back to the mountains and joining our team full time.

She has been training with us since April and has quickly become a wonderful addition to Studio g.
