As an esthetician, I often remind my clients that healthy skin is supported by healthy habits — movement, hydration, sleep, and stress management.

Got my workout in today and I’m feeling grateful for another day of life and a body strong enough to move.

My workout partner Kelly and I have been working out at the Orangetheory Fitness Durham Southpoint since it opened in 2019, and today we learned the studio will be closing after this week.

Moments like this remind us that wellness is a lifelong journey, and sometimes change simply opens the door to new opportunities.

By February, I see the same pattern every year—people start stretching appointments, skipping maintenance, or telling themselves they’ll “get back on track” closer to spring.

What’s really happening isn’t random. February is where small gaps start to show up.
For skin, that looks like dryness, sensitivity, and slower progress.
For waxing, it shows up as thicker regrowth, more irritation, and disrupted hair cycles.

Here’s what I know after years of working with seasonal skin and waxing clients: February is a setup month.
