Years of unchecked trauma, teenage heartbreak, sorrow, and rage shaped more of my story than I’d like to admit.
Healing has been messy. Uncomfortable. Beautiful. The kind of work no one applauds because it happens quietly, behind closed doors.
But last night, watching Evanescence, I found myself face-to-face with a younger version of me.
The girl who felt everything too deeply.
The girl who found refuge in music.
The girl who was just trying to make it through.
And for the first time in a long time, I realized she did.
We made it.
