Update on this glorious copper mane NINE WEEKS after her initial appointment where we started to take the color a little lighter. After applying a base color, I added hand painted highlights through the lengths of the hair to break up previous applications of a darker red. This creates a seamless transition into a brighter, lighter copper in addition to adding dimension so the color never looks flat or fake. To see the change, the last photo is where we finished at her last appointment.

This is my favorite type of color service! The goal here is to blend the gray that’s coming in with more pigmented hair, and to have a seamless regrowth. We’re also aiming for salon visits every FOUR MONTHS. Microfoils, multiple color formulas, and intentional placement to the rescue!

Also, it’s fascinating to see how different the same hair can look in different lighting!
