I’ve been contemplating on what the caption to this session should be for weeks now…

Annabelle needs no introduction. She went viral for refusing to shake the superintendent’s hand at graduation and instead offered him a copy of The Handmaid’s Tale, a book that had been banned from West Ada School Libraries. He wouldn’t take the book, so she placed it at his feet.

I believe her intention has created a moment in time that creates conversation and change for generations to come.
I commend her on her incredibly inspiring courage.

I feel extraordinarily grateful to have met her and be the makeup artist for her session. I have been blessed in my lifetime to read many a “banned” book and have grown through the experiences I could only read about. Something I hope everyone has the opportunity to experience.

I don’t know what trails she will pursue in her lifetime…

all I know is that they will be blazing!
