A lot of people asked me to post a photo of how my silver transformations look after a few weeks or months, this client came in for a silver transformation 10 months ago and then came back last week for toner and trim. The client is very happy with the way it’s holding, it looks very natural because she followed carefully all maintenance tips I shared with her.

Silver Hair Maintenance Tips

1-Wait 1 week after dyeing your hair silver before washing it. Leave your hair without washing for 1 week can recover and replenish any lost oils.

2-Use color-safe shampoos and conditioners. Focus the shampoo on your roots and scalp, and the conditioner on the mid-lengths and ends of your hair.

3-Deep-condition your hair 1 to 2 times a week with hair masks. Choose a mask meant for color-treated hair.

4-Use cool water to wash your hair and make your color last longer. Hot water is very damaging and causes the color to fade faster.

5-Limit washing your hair to once per week. Gray hair dye fades faster than most, the less you wash, the longer your color stays.

6-Limit the heat styling to keep your hair healthy and vibrant. Let your hair air dry, and learn to embrace your hair's natural texture. Heat styling damages hair, and it can cause your hair color to fade faster.

7- If addicted to hot tools use a low heat setting, But I still don’t recommend it for Silver Transformation.

8-Use a heat protectant when heat-styling your hair. Apply heat protectant while hair is still wet.

9-Use purple shampoos if you notice yellow tints in your hair.

10- If you swim make sure you wet your hair, apply moisturizer before you go in the pool or the ocean, wet hair doesn’t absorb any water.

11- all products you’ll use must be clear or white only because colored products might stain your silver hair.

12- Get a toning service at the salon when you feel purple shampoo isn’t helping anymore.

13- Stay away from the sun as much as you can.

14- Use k18 repair system to strengthen the hair and help with porosity to hold the color for a longer time.
