I want to address this one more time because, unfortunately, it still needs to be said.

My small business does not pay my bills. Nearly everything I make goes right back into buying more inventory so I can keep my prices affordable for everyone. I’m incredibly grateful for every new customer and every returning customer who supports me.

With that said, I have to start enforcing my policies.

Cash Orders: If you’re paying with cash, your order must be picked up within 24 hours of being notified it’s ready. No exceptions. I understand that life happens, but I can no longer hold unpaid orders while waiting on someone to pick them up.

Paid Orders (Venmo, PayPal, Cash App): I’m happy to hold prepaid orders for up to 1 week (unless otherwise specified that you need a later pickup). After 2 weeks, any unclaimed order will be returned to inventory and resold. (Unless we have spoken about a date that is more prevalent for you!

I send plenty of reminders—probably more than I should—but I can’t continue chasing people down. It’s awkward for me, and it isn’t fair to my business. I’m the first one to admit I love a reminder I don’t mind giving them, but when I have to give five and six reminders and trust me, some people I do, respectfully you know who you are 😊

My customers are absolutely amazing and for the most part, everyone does pick up their orders quickly. This message is directed only at the very small handful of people who repeatedly don’t and it wouldn’t be as bad if I wasn’t waiting on your cash for your payment like I said, this is my livelihood at the moment and until you’ve been in a position that you are dependent on the sales that come in to make ends meet for you and your family, then be thankful you don’t have to understand the struggle of how hard it is to breathe when your barely above water and running a business, raising a child and trying to survive at your mercy!

At the end of the day, this is my business, and I have to treat it like one. I’ve been unemployed since January, I should not have to tell you that my unemployment benefits are ending, and I simply can’t afford to keep holding unpaid merchandise or waiting weeks for pickups.

If these policies don’t work for you, I completely understand. There are plenty of places to buy candles, wax melts and room sprays (they won’t be as good or affordable as the products we provide though) 🤷🏼‍♂️ The difference is, THEY ALL expect payment when you check out, and so do I.
