When most people hear extensions they think long mermaid hair but sometimes extensions are worn just to add in fullness to what you already have. This beauty loved the length of her hair but struggles because her hair is finer. One row of NBR helped fill in the sparse gaps and added some more fullness. She also gets the added bonus of hair that holds a style better than her natural! Even though it’s not a huge transformation I’m still so obsessed with the results!

Is one of your resolutions for the new year to have the best hair ever?! My clients all wear extensins for different reasons. Some struggle with fine fragile hair that literally refuses to grow past a certain length. Some have struggled with their hair changing postpartum. Some struggle with loosing body because of health reasons. Some just want to have fun with some added fullness and length. The list could go on and on. No matter the reason I believe every women deserves to feel like her most beautiful self. NBR is a hair game changer. Fun fact. Most of my NBR client wears about 2-3 different colors of hand tied hair wefts in their hair. Along with each NBR clients natural hair the extension hair gets custom colored. The extension hair gets one or a combination of glossing, shadow root, and/or lowlights for the most perfect hair color match! This blonde is actually wearing 3 custom shades of Isla Hand Tied Hair extensions! Hair color was my first love as a hair artist, so making the most seamless color blend is one of my favorite parts of the NBR process!

What’s the NBR difference?

It is all about the details. Each NBR appointment is different because it is custom to each individual client. My goal is to create the most natural looking seamless blend. This starts with custom coloring your hair and the extensions. After that we begin to build the row that .isla hand tied wefts are sewn on to. I offer 1, 2, and 3 rows depending on your hair goals. Each row is custom placed for maximum comfort and fullness. After that multiple tones of Isla hand tied hair is placed and sewn to create the most natural seamless blend. Then extensions are cut to blend and create natural looking movement. To finish off we style your hair and have a photoshoot! Each step is unique to each client.

My secret to curls that last though the holiday parties or any special occasion ⬇️🤫

I like to say if you look at my curls for too long they will fall flat. Forget wearing my hair down and having my curls lasting from morning to night. Well that is how it was before NBR. One of my favorite things about Natural Beaded Rows is how great my extensions hold a curl. I have found for myself and my clients that it’s possible to have a style hold not just one day but for a few with just minor curl touch ups in between! This also gives you the added bonus of having to use less heat on your hair which makes your natural hair healthier!

Hair washing and extensions 🧖🏻‍♀️⬇️

One of the most common questions I get asked is… How the heck do you wash your hair with extensions?

It is actually quite simple. I am someone who has very fine hair and I used to have to wash my hair every other day or it would get flat and lifeless. With extensins I am able to go 5-7 days in between washes! Washing every 4-7 days is usually what I recommend to my NBR gals. It’s crazy how much it’s extensions can make your life easier! When it comes time to wash you pretty much shampoo like normals. The only difference is to section out your hair and wash row by row to be sure everything is getting nice and clean. After you shampoo I always recommend a moisturizing conditioner or mask.

One of my favorite things to say is extensions are high maintenance to be low maintenance. When it comes to washing your hair taking time to section off your rows may take you an extra few minutes but being able to go longer in between ways days is a total time saver in the end!
