In 1964, Mary Kay Ash held the first seminar as a way to recognize the achievements of women entrepreneurs. It was held in the company warehouse and Mary Kay Ash prepared food for the 200 beauty consultants in attendance. Today, seminars happen all over the world giving beauty consultants an opportunity to gather and celebrate their achievements and learn skills to help support their business. Mary Kay U.S. recently celebrated their annual seminar in Dallas, Texas with nearly 20,000 salesforce members in attendance.

Four North Texas domestic violence shelters were recently awarded a total of $100,000 in grants to support the continual growth of the community. Hope’s Door New Beginning Center’s Chief Executing Officer, Christina Coultas, shares about the impact receiving the grant has had on the shelter’s work.

Inspired by the patients and foundation funding received early in her career, Dr. Gina Lee, Assistant Professor of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics at UC Irvine School of Medicine and 2022 cancer research grant recipient, realized her passion to apply her basic science in clinical settings. With her grant from the Mary Kay Ash Foundation she will be able to continue her research of LAM disease - a rare tumor syndrome in women affecting the lungs - in hopes of advancing treatment options.
