T R U E C O L O R S

I led a crash-course Hand-Tied Extensions Course this past weekend and getting to teach has always sparked such a fire within me. When Artists trust me to take them to the next level, I am so humbled with Gratitude. I applaud on her efforts and dedication to expanding her knowledge and embracing growth in all areas of Hair Artistry!

I also got to do something that I rarely get a chance to do which is beautiful Vivid Hair Color! It was such a great experience coming full circle and I cant wait to host more Education Classes for our Community!

If you like what you see, visit our Website (link in Bio) and contact your Artist for a consultation!

If you are interested in attending classes, feel free to DM me to share your goals and what you'd like to learn here at Culture!

Best,
Cara

Who loves that 🍯Honey tone?!

🖌Artist:

If you're naturally brunette, you might want to consider a hint of warmth! It compliments the skin and natural undertones of your beautiful rich color and also reflects more light than cooler toned highlights!

This reflect makes hair appear more shiny and bright to the eyes!

Who loves a soft, warm contrast?

Happy Saturday, Hair Artists!

These days, hair costs alot... because it requires alot:

Time.
Effort.
Product.

⬆️Just to name a few⬆️

There are so many ways to Blonde, but it's probably the most time consuming service! Raise those 👐 if you agree!

👐👐👐👐👐👐👐👐👐

What do you charge for your Blonding Services? Do you charge:

》a higher rate per hour?
》by service?
》determine the price after?

I am curious to see how my fellow Artists are pricing these services!

🖤Masks at Culture🖤

I wanted to make sure that Guests visiting Culture between now and June 15th (or whenever the green light is for the removal of masks) that we are still requiring a mask during your visit!

It is important that we as Professionals, regardless of what our personal thoughts are on the matter, still enforce these guidelines. Not only are we indoors working in a close setting, but we could also be fined a pretty penny by the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology for not following proper sanitation guidelines (which at this time still includes mask wearing).

Please note, even though I am Vaccinated, I will also still be wearing a mask for the purpose of ensuring others' safety to the best of my ability AND to avoid getting cited and fined.

Remember that we have to go long days (8,10,12 or more hours) wearing a mask. It is uncomfortable however we still are required to wear them. I understand that there are so many personal opinions about masks but we need to make sure we are in compliance with the regulations for Salons at this time!

Thanks so much! Come on in and let us

Keep it 💯 ALWAYS.

If you're reading this, get cozy. This will PROBABLY take a good chunk of time to read.

I'm calling this particular post "The Lost Files" because frankly, the photos weren't good enough to make it to the Highlight Reel. After all, who wants to post their work if it's not "perfect"?

I certainly didnt..

Until now.

I've been doing hair for a long time. It's been my focus and dedication for the last 12 years. I am NOT exempt from making mistakes, though. You see, you can be in this business for 10, 20, 30 years and STILL make mistakes. And that's OK. It's how we LEARN. Unfortunately any mistake these days can be easily edited out in Lightroom, an app designed to cater to the finest adjustment of detail. This photo could've looked ALOT more appealing had those Apps existed during the time of this service... and I could've fooled the world thinking this hair session turned out differently... This is disheartening to me and for the Industry that I love.

In "The Lost Files" you see above, this Guest had repeatedly box dyed her hair BLACK. 😞 Oh, yes. And I AGREED to make her blonde. I foolishly and ambitiously took on the task and in phase 1, she ended up in the Red family. Naturally. Because ANYONE who knows haircolor KNOWS that this was going to be the inevitable outcome. Bummer.

The 3rd photo was my second shot at it. Lighter. Landed in the Copper/Gold phase of the Level/Tone Spectrum. I wasn't happy with the outcome and I came to realize that this Guest was better suited for someone else. Someone who can spend 5 hours on correcting color. That person wasn't and probably never will be me. I don't find joy in the stress of compromising the hair's integrity with multiple applications of lightener/ having multiple sessions and STILL coming up short. I was humbled and kindly referred this Guest to someone who could better meet her needs.

Our Industry needs a A RESET.

Let's break away from the current state of Beauty. Let's redefine it. Let's be ok making mistakes and owning it. I challenge you to post a not so flattering photo and OWN it. Can you do it?

I challenge you to to do the same.
