Yes there are other factors to maintaining your beautiful fresh from the salon color, but these two are NOT OPTIONAL if you want your color to last to its fullest.

Is that worth it to you?

I won’t lie, I am not a fan of the cold shampoo chaos. So I use a color depositing shampoo to offset some of the fade. Are you interested in that as an option for yourself? DM me! 🤩

NEVER underestimate the power of your hair!

On days you don’t feel like dressing “nice”, or putting on make up (if that’s your thing), you’ve always got your crown… so hair is important!

There’s something about vivd hair that looks so freaking rad even when just thrown up in a messy bun or braid.

How long does a vivid transformation take? 4-6 HOURS (if you have pre-existing blonde it’s 2.5-3.5 hours).

Why does it take that long?!?

The first step is lightening. Generally this means a full highlight or scalp to ends bleach depending on the desired outcome.

Then we let for your hair to process to the level of lightness needed, rinse and shampoo. Then we blow dry.

Once your hair is dry, we custom mix the color(s) we want and apply them.

Then we let that process and rinse it again. Then we dry it again.

It’s literally like having 2 color guests in one appointment!

So make sure you’re picking a stylist that makes the time fly by and makes you happy to spend that amount of time with them! :D

5 things you can absolutely count on from me as your stylist:

1. Absolute Honesty. I will NEVER do something I don’t think is safe/healthy/flattering just for the sake of making money. My conscience and integrity won’t let me. Instead, we will talk about what’s best for you and why we might not be able to do the thing you want… YET.
2. I will always choose the integrity of your hair over an end result… healthy hair is so important to me. YES we may push the boundaries, YES sometimes we can ask too much from your hair. AS SOON AS I see your hairs integrity being compromised we switch into healing it as much as possible. Healthy hair is always the best hair.
3. I value your time. I do my best to not run late… on the rare occasion I do, I’ll let you know ahead of time. I hate having you wait on me. I know you’ve got a life to live, and I want you to get to it with the best hair ever.
4. If you even hint at wanting a vivid anything, I will absolutely jump on that train with you. I don’t care if it’s a peek-a boo buried in the back that’s a pastel in your hair, I’m HERE FOR IT! My inner Lisa Frank loving 5 year old, still wants to color everything. ;)
5. I’m in this industry for the people, not just the hair. While getting to know some amazing people over the length of my career I’ve gotten to celebrate so many dreams. Dreams of college and graduation, dreams of marriage, dreams of a family, dreams of travel, dreams of bigger things… I’m here to help fulfill this dreams any way I can, even if that’s met just cheering you on from the sidelines. Even if life takes us out of sharing space and I no longer do your hair, I’m on that ride with you celebrating it all!

What isn’t fun about Vivid/Unicorn hair?

Fashion colors are so fun, and even better THEY ARE SO IN RIGHT NOW.

So much so that work places all over are reassessing their dress code policies to allow for these hues (thanks for that Starbucks).

Of all my natural colored guests who have sat in my chair, about half of them would rock some flair if they could. Most can’t even entertain the idea because of work. But the half that don’t have to worry about work, are tempted at every appointment.

How tempted are you to just GO FOR IT? What color tempts you the most?

I love what I do, BUT the biggest thing that really keeps me motivated and engaged is my wonderful guests. The people that trust me with such a big part of how they interact with the world… their hair.

I am NOT the stylist for everyone, there are rare times I’ll tell you no. I will always follow up with why, but make no mistake I’d rather tell you no then be responsible for ruining the integrity of your hair. 

I ask A LOT of questions in our first meeting, as well as every time you want a dramatic change. My goal is always to give you your dream hair that works for YOUR actual hair and life style.

If it’s not in your budget to come see me every 4-6 weeks for a platinum blonde retouch, I don’t want to give you that! You’ll hate your roots longer then you’ll love your gorgeous platinum hair. If you are not going to spend 90min on your hair when you style it, I don’t want to give you a high maintenance hairstyle. With each individual that allows me to care for their hair, I do my best to create with them in mind.

I’ll be honest, there are things I have STRONG feelings about (hello straight across fringe and copper copper hair color) but at the end of the day it’s your hair, and I do my best to give you my best!

Today is special. It is the 1 year anniversary of !

Things the last year have reinforced for me:

1. A comfort zone is not the place you grow.
2. Asking for help isn’t the hard part. Trusting someone and continuing to ask for help and support time and time again is the hard part.
3. The more we ignore or deny something, the more likely it is that we need to take a hard look at it and discover the why.
4. Money doesn’t actually solve all your problems.
5. Relationships are a choice and dramatically shape your day to day world, so make sure you are choosing people who are working in the same direction you are.
6. You cannot help people that won’t or aren’t ready to help themselves.
7. Your environment directly affects your health, both mental and physical.
8. Puppy snuggles are the best way to start and end every day.
9. You can love someone deeply, but not like them very much at the same time.
10. Life is too short, so find and celebrate the joy as much as possible.

Thanks to those that have been there to celebrate the last year. Here’s to an even better 2nd year!

Now for some honesty… Let’s talk about Imposter Syndrome.

Have you felt it? I know I have!

Imposter Syndrome: a collection of feelings of inadequacy that persist despite evident success with a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a “fraud”.

Basically, a BS meter.

In all honesty, that’s all it is. A BS Meter. You sit there, despite your talent, despite your accomplishments, despite your evidentiary support of everything you’ve rightfully earned, and you still feel UNWORTHY.

I call BS!

Do you know how many people out there wish they had your talent?
Seriously, there are people out there who pine for what you don’t appreciate having.

Do you know how many people out there wish they had accomplished even half of what they know you’ve accomplished? And they don’t even know the whole of things you’ve accomplished! You are absolutely NOT a bump on a log, you have done incredible things in your life. OWN THEM!

Everyone out there that you are worried about judging you is ALSO worried about everyone else judging them. So break that ugly cycle!
