Don’t be fooled, get schooled! 📚

If you ever hear a lash artist say something like “I only use products approved by the FDA” 🚩🚩🚩That’s a red flag!

💡Fun Fact: The Food and Drug Administration does *NOT* regulate body modification products nor their tools.

This includes but is not limited to:

Lash Adhesives / tools
Lash Lamps or Curing Apparatus
Nail Products
Cosmetics
Tattoo Inks
Dietary Supplements
Fragrance
Menstrual & Intimate Products

However, in December 2022 the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA) was passed.

It’s important to remember MoCRA is not the FDA. It’s the law passed to expand the authority of the FDA in case of emergency (for recall scenarios) & to maintain location, licensing, & facility registrations for safety provisions.

This is where the importance of choosing the right esthetician comes in. Product safety might slip through the cracks of the FDA or the Health Licensing Offices but it won’t slip through the properly trained and well educated esti’s brain. 🧠
