1️⃣ Always detangle with a wet brush first—never start styling with knots.
2️⃣ Layer your products in the right order: prep ➝ style ➝ finish. Leave-in conditioner goes first, then I personally like gel ➝ curl cream ➝ mousse (but I used to do the opposite!). The truth is, every curl type, texture, and pattern is different, so you’ve got to experiment and see what your hair loves most ✨
3️⃣ Once your hair is wet enough and has slip from your products, section off and start in the back—then work your way up as you brush style.
⚠️ Skip any of those steps (not detangled, not wet enough, not enough slip) and you risk breakage.
