Hi! First post in years just to invite you to for our semi annual Sliding Scale (pay what you can) Gender Affirming Haircut party! No one will be turned away between 11am -2pm, no one will be monitoring the payment jar or Venmo. Community Supporting Community vibes all day, every day. Open to all LGBTQ2S+ folks. We have the upstairs and downstairs locations both open for this event for accessibility. Please help us share the care by inviting your friends and community members!

Hi! (A short car wreck update but more important stuff after)
I’m finally feeling like… maybe 62% recovered mentally, physically and (possibly) emotionally from the wreck in July.

Now to the important stuff!
Marsha and the rest of the Anomaly Hair Collective Crew are looking for 1 or 2 new team•mates!!
I have 3 days (until Wednesday the 4th) to find the perfect addition 😅 otherwise this space goes out to the general public of weirdos 😂
Anomaly has just acquired a new private unit/studio space!!!
It has 1 larger room, a smaller room and a large reception area. There is 1 sink available but not for hair washing. The space would be ideal for estheticians, nail techs (probably not acrylics unfortunately), body/energy workers or even therapists.
Our current AHC client community are always asking for recommendations for nails, waxing, skincare and massage. Like honestly daily. We would LOVE love love to be able to recommend someone “in house” for our clients.
Very very strong preference for Q***r and Marginalized community members who are looking to establish or establish their own practice.

I wanted to have this extra filter to access us with the goal of keeping us safe from the public *at large* and all of the actual crazy s**t that happens when people believe that their views/opinions/lifestyles are superior…
A lot has changed over the last 5 years and I feel like I (and we!) are ready to be louder, stronger, way more fun then the rest of the world! Feeling safe as a Q***r + Trans (very) small business has been complicated and has proven to be uniquely relatable to very very few.

So here is my first little re•branding and casual debut of the new Anomaly Hair Collective

Anomaly Hair Collective has been through quit a few changes over the last year starting with this ✨ GEM✨ Kelso snuck into our hearts and our studio back in November of last year while we were in the middle of our upstairs expansion. While the rest of our crew moved upstairs, Kelso remains downstairs and has created a very special space that has added great value to all of our experiences! We could go on and on and on about how great they Truly are as a person AND a stylist but first, a little about Kelso:

“Hello! My name is Kelsey, but I like to go by KelsO. My pronouns are they/ she/ he, and I like them to be used interchangeably 🫶🏼
I have been doing hair for 10 years, and have seen way too much focus on the gender binary in this industry. On that note, I am on a mission to dismantle gender based pricing! Hair should be charged by either length or time, not by gender. This is one of the many reasons why I am so incredibly excited that Jordin and the rest of the Anomaly team have welcomed me aboard. This next endeavor is going to be wonderful, and I feel very grateful to be apart of a community that values celebrating everyone’s uniqueness. 🌈
Fun facts:
⁃ My wife and I lived in Spain for 2 years teaching English.
⁃ I have two doggie sons named Prince and Zeppelin who were adopted from Greenhill Humane Society.
⁃ At age 6 I used to want to manage an apartment complex because I thought that’s the only way you could own/ drive a golf cart.
⁃ I went on a solo 5 week trip around Europe, just me and my backpack in 2017.
I could go on and on, buuuuut you’ll just have to come visit me at Anomaly one day!✨”

New Barber Alert! We are SO excited to introduce you to Mat! “Oh, hello! My name is Mathew but I usually go by Mat, and my pronouns are he/him/his. I'm a self-proclaimed nerdy trans guy, with ADHD and a passion for dismantling the gender binary -- one haircut at a time.

I am a new barber who is trained in long cuts as well as short cuts. It is my goal to destroy the myth that barbers are only trained in "men's cuts,” and firmly believe that hairstyles have no gender. You will never find gender-based prices on my books, only prices based on the length of the hair and the time it takes for the service. Let me know your hair goals and wishes, so we can see about getting you there!

I will also be offering some facial services! Remember, everyone deserves some time to be pampered -- even you.

Also, I have a passion for accessibility. Please reach out and let me know if you have any sensory needs that I can try to accommodate. I also offer an option for services with no small talk, in which I will only ask questions that have to do with the service you are receiving.

For the (less) important things: My favorite starter Pokemon is Squirtle, my main D&D class is Rogue, I'm a Gemini, and my go-to Karaoke song is Cough Syrup by Young the Giant.
