Dear clients, friends and family,
Yesterday was my last day at Modern Betty salon. It is with deep sadness that I bring this news. I didn't share it earlier because I continued to have hope that something would change. Several months ago the house we operated from sold. The new owner did not renew our lease and it is time for me to find a new home. I have to say how much I enjoyed that location and the group of women.

I will be at Sola salons #8. There is no name for now. You can always reach me at 541-554-5591!!! This has been my same number since 1993 and it will not change. The new salon is a stones throw away from where I was. Literally you could see it from my window. The good news is that the building was designed for stylists and I can do blowouts whenever. Yay! My days will change a little bit for now.

I am sad to say goodbye to such a beautiful group of ladies and location. I have to continue to believe that the best is yet to come. Thank you for all your love and support. I really appreciate each and every one of you, clients, friends and family.

She wanted a transformation. I lightened her hair with color, avoiding damage of bleach and did a Brazilian Blowout. She will still have some curl if she wants it, but will cut down on her blow dry time and flat ironing time. She had a TON of hair, but this was worth it.

Today I had a young woman come in for full highlights. Her hair was very dark. I asked her if she colored her hair and she told me she did. I explained that it can be difficult to lift that color out. I asked how long since she colored. She told me a month. Oddly her new growth matched her overall color. This prompted me to ask why she colored her hair the same color as her natural color. She told me because it had been lighter. I asked if it had been lightened with bleach, it had. We did a strand test while I cut her hair. After 45 minutes I rinsed the test to find 75% breakage. This is why we do strand testing.
