Somehow we flew through the last batch of Anam Cara and are down to our final jar 🫠 i love how much y'all love this balm!

Im making more obviously, but my girls are home most of next week we'll likely be sold out for at least a week before I can get into the studio to make more.

So, if you need it, grab the last jar on the shelf!

I realized I had never shared most of this series of Substack posts I've been working on. I think there's a lot of confusion around fatty acids for skin (as opposed to for consumption) and I'm hoping that a basic understanding of the structure of fatty acids will help. There's no reason to fear oils topically so long as they're well sourced, well formulated, and well cared for.

Check out part 2 of this series, yapping about the structure of oils, carbon atoms, and how shape impacts stability.

In winter, your skin needs consistency, nourishment, and tenderness. Not more new products. Not harsh actives. Just gentle care and replenishment.

Simple, consistent hydration, moisture, and nourishment.

I've been letting myself be quiet this winter. Unlike previous years when I'd push myself to be marketing a ton in January, fighting against the post-holiday lull, this year I realized I needed to lay some things to rest, composting over the winter to make good soil come spring.

Good things, some changes, and clarity are coming.

I've also been re-working things over on Substack to more accurately reflect where my intention and research interests are now. If you're a subscriber you got a lengthy preview this morning of the Winter Physick post. Paid subscribers received the full thing. I'm both excited and a little scared of solidifying a direction for that space. One which fully embraces historical imagination, research, and storytelling. It means letting go of some old identities, but I'm following my tao, my path, and bridging plants and history. Something I've wanted to do for...well, forever really.

Anyway, things are being restocked in the shop this week, including Solis, and I'm feeling clearer having released some old stories I was telling myself.

I haven't shared much about it publicly, but for the last 2+ years, I've been struggling with and healing from post-viral syndrome. I'm still learning about all the mechanisms that caused it initially, but it's meant 2 years of an ebb and flow of symptoms. Symptoms like lung pain, body aches, intense fatigue, and fever-type sensations without an actual fever.

It's meant a process of rest and nourishment, along with understanding what triggers a flare and when.

One of the things that's been surprisingly helpful is following a ketogenic diet. Post-viral syndrome is not well understood, and I haven't gotten much help from conventional medicine, and of course, everybody is different, but my system seems to respond well with far fewer flares.

Still, some days my body let's me know I've pushed too hard for too long and I end up spending most of the day watching Christmas movies with the girls. On those days, Sacra feels like the ultimate nourishment.

Today is one of those days. But I've gotten so much better at not blaming myself and seeing it as a failure but rather a call to deep listening and unlearning old patterns.

And a cup of this golden elixir and Muppet Christmas Carol isn't a terrible way to spend the day.

🌱Spring is a season of awakening—your skin feels it too.🌱

As the earth softens and sap rises, your skin begins its own quiet shift. This is the moment to reconnect with your skin's natural rhythm, support circulation and renewal, and to refresh your skincare ritual.

At Wild Grace, skincare is a form of nourishment—ritual, not routine.
Every formulation begins with whole plants, not extracts. We work slowly and seasonally, infusing our products with raw, unrefined oils, botanical infusions, and the wisdom of elemental energetics.

These are not just products—they’re invitations.

Invitations to slow down, attune to the season, and return to the rhythms that sustain you.

There are no fillers here. No synthetic shortcuts or extracts.

Only nutrient-dense, earth-centered skincare—crafted to support your skin’s vitality and your spirit’s unfolding through the energy of the season.

✨️Spring's Invitation🐚

Spring is a time of (re)birth, balance, growth, expansion, play, joy, action, beginner's mind, imagination, innocence.

And while it's one thing to name those energies we see alive outside our door, it's another thing entirely to bravely explore what those energetics mean for us.

How do you embody play?

Do you fear rebirth?

What is your relationship like with “beginner's mind” - do you resist doing things you may not be good at right away?

In The Sanctuary, we go deeper than naming these energetics. We explore what it feels like to embody them. We watch the way our protector parts respond to the way nature invites us to participate in the world.

We get curious about which aspects of nature we reject and which we cling to.

We observe what opens within us when we acknowledge that those energetics alive in Nature are also alive in us.

What begins to shift in our outer lives when we attune to the rhythms of nature, the ebb and flow, expansion and contraction, rather than believing there is only one way we are supposed to show up in the world: productive, linear, always striving for more.

As living, breathing beings, it only makes sense that we would have our own innate rhythms and cycles. But why is it so hard to accept this aspect of our humanity?

If the sap rises, the flowers bloom, and the seasons shift—what could be awakening within you?

In The Sanctuary, we don’t just witness nature’s transitions—we embody them. Through food as medicine, plant spirit connection, embodied movement, and mindfulness, we explore how these same rhythms live within us.

This Sunday, we gather for our Opening Call for Spring—a moment to step across the threshold into a new season, a new rhythm, and a deeper connection to yourself.

Will you join us? 🌱

✨Some stories are meant to be told slowly.✨

Over on Substack, Tending the Hearth is where we explore the deeper side of slow beauty and seasonal living—seasonal musings, ritual skincare, stories, and ancestral wisdom.

It's a space where you can exit the scroll and step into nourishment, remembering that timeless feeling of getting drawn into a good book.

Pour a cup of tea, settle in, and join us in this quiet corner of the world.

✨️Wild Grace: A skincare brand deeply devoted to plant medicine.✨️

I believe the natural beauty industry has a potent opportunity that it isn't taking advantage of because it's too busy trying to make the natural version of conventional skincare products. I deeply believe in the magic of slowing down, and in the power of plants and skincare to invite us to slow down and reconnect with ourselves.

I believe that when we slow down and let the distractions, the busy-ness, the "shoulds" slip away, we can hear our body's unique voice and innate wisdom guiding us back to our true nature. When we pair that deep listening with attuning to the Earth's energetics and rhythms, our masks can fall away, and we see and trust ourselves for who we truly are.

I believe in plants as a portal to that attunement with both the energetics of the Earth as well as ourselves. Plants as a doorway to our inner voice. Plants as an invitation to our true nature.

And I really believe that the things we put on our bodies every day can invite us into deeper communion with our own truth. I don't think botanical skincare is better because it's "clean" and I actually really really don't like that term when referring to non-toxic products.

I believe Wild Grace whole plant skincare is better than conventional and even most natural skincare because it's truly alive and intended to act as a bridge between you and the plant world, you and the natural realm, and to remind you that you ARE ALWAYS actually part of that realm, sometimes you just forget.

Friends! Wild Grace is going through some big internal shifts (all good things, don't worry) and I'm making some changes to our line. One of those changes is to reformulate Helios, our beloved shimmering oil.

The biggest change is that it will no longer be a shimmering oil! I've got something wonderful planned for it but if you like the shimmer, grab a bottle or two while it's still around.

More announcements coming soon. Thanks for being here and for all your support through the ebbs and flows and seasons of life. We deeply appreciate all of you 🤍✨️

Some people come to Bend for the snow sports. I come for the bookstore.

My dream is to someday have a cozy bookstore/cafè/apothecary. A third place. A place for people to gather and find a remedy for whatever ails them, whether that's community, a cuppa tea, an herbal preparation, beautiful skincare, or a book.

For now I satisfy myself with weaving threads of this dream and trusting that I can speak this dream into reality in whatever way it needs to happen.

The apothecary is a reflection of my personal belief in practical magic, in the power and healing potential held in our bodies and in the natural world. All the ingredients used in our products are organic and/or grown as locally as possible and these skincare rituals are made by hand in small batches to ensure you’re getting the freshest possible product. These unique medicinal and healing blends draw from traditional western herbalism, science, therapeutics, and the energetics of plants. Through the use of these products, I encourage people to reconnect to the Earth and listen to their bodies.
