The Manual: The Menopause Middle 📚
It's not your fault. It's insulin resistance and protective fat storage. Your body is trying to help you.
Stop the punishing cardio. Start lifting weights, eating protein, and giving yourself some grace.
It’s the end of the day, you’re finally pulling your hair back, and you can feel it—that tight, itchy, slightly heavy sensation of a "Day 5" dry shampoo scalp.
We’ve all been there. Dry shampoo is a lifesaver, but it was never meant to be a permanent roommate.
If your scalp could talk tonight, it’s likely gasping for air. 🌬️ Those aerosol sprays we love are often packed with alcohols and propellants that don’t just sit on the hair—they suffocate the follicle.
If you’re planning your morning wash, here is your Scalp-Reset Gameplan:
1. The Double Wash: One round of shampoo isn’t enough to cut through five days of starch. Lather, rinse, and repeat. The first wash breaks up the "plug," the second actually cleans the skin.
2. Lose the Aerosol: When you can, reach for powder formulas. Your follicles will thank you.
3. The Weekly Reset: Follow up your week with a gentle clarifying shampoo. Think of it as a deep clean for your "engine."
Your hair is an engine. It needs regular maintenance, not just a prettier steering wheel cover to hide the smoke. 🚗💨
Go give your scalp the "water" it’s begging for. You’ll both sleep better.
👇 Confession time: Are you currently on Day 1 or Day 5? No judgment here, I’ve seen it all! 😉

After being a hair professional for 30+ years…I have learned this; changing hair can impact your self-esteem. “My hair just isn’t the same” I have heard that statement many times.
Maybe you’re experiencing more shedding than normal. Maybe your hair seems dry no matter what you put on it. Maybe you’ve noticed thinning around your part or your hair isn’t cooperating like it used to. There’s often more happening than you just needing a different shampoo.
When your hormones are going haywire with perimenopause and menopause you can experience many changes to your scalp and hair that most people don’t talk about. Which can leave a lot of women feeling confused… and honestly a little frightened.
I want to provide a safe place for women to discuss what they’re experiencing without being told it’s all in their head or sold the latest “miracle cure.” We can examine the scalp, discuss any concerns you may have, and start figuring out some of the puzzle. Sometimes JUST knowing what could be happening to your body can help. I want to help you figure out those clues.
If you’ve experienced:
🤍 More shedding in the shower or when brushing your hair
✨ Thinning hair or a part that seems wider than normal
🤎 Dryness, breakage or different texture 🌿 Your go-to products no longer seem to work … you are NOT alone.
You are definitely not overreacting. Sometimes it just helps to have someone listen and take a closer look.
Let me do that for you. 📩 send me a message if any of this resonates with you.

Self-Care Rituals for Midlife Wellness Taking care of yourself in midlife isn’t about battling aging. When used intentionally, it’s about supporting the physical vessel you know as your body through one of life’s biggest transformations. Grounded in science, here are five holistic self-care practices to support hormones, scalp, and...
Day 5 of dry shampoo? 🚨
Dry shampoo is a lifesaver — until it isn’t. Powder buildup (especially from aerosol sprays) can clog follicles, irritate your scalp, and lead to shedding. If you use dry shampoo: avoid aerosol when possible, double-shampoo to remove residue, and use a gentle clarifying wash weekly after a scalp reset. Your hair is an engine — give it the maintenance it needs. 🚿💜
In this week’s Manual Thursday, we are diving into The Energy Chapter.
As we move through perimenopause and menopause, our "cellular battery" can hit a critical low. It’s not just in your head—it’s in your hormones. Between shifting estrogen and cortisol spikes, it’s no wonder we feel like we’re running on 2% some days.
The biggest thing I want you to know? This fatigue often shows up in your hair before you even feel it in your body.
Today’s Manual mentions:
✅ The Estrogen-Energy link (it’s a real thing!)
✅ Why protein and minerals are your new best friends
✅ A quick look at how I help you recharge the engine at Hair 360 / Second Spring Studio in Kearney.
Stop guessing and start thriving. Follow along for your weekly "Menopause Manual," and message me if you’re ready to get that spark back! ⚡️👇

It’s 9:00 PM. You’re standing in your bathroom, looking at the hair in your brush, and contemplating that bottle of biotin gummies you bought on a whim.
I’ve been there. We’ve all been there.
But before you take another one, I want you to hear this: You cannot fix an internal hormone shift with a generic "hair, skin, and nails" gummy.
Instead of another $40 on pink bears, what if you actually knew why your hair was changing? What if you had a diagnostic plan instead of a guessing game?
Your hair is an engine. It needs diagnostics, not just a prettier steering wheel cover.
If you’re tired of the "throw it at the wall and see what sticks" approach to your hair loss, let’s make a real plan tomorrow.
Sleep well, knowing answers are possible.
👇 Comment “DIAGNOSTIC” and I’ll reach out to help you decode what your body is trying to tell you.
