We turned the clocks back an hour this weekend, and apparently my brain decided that extra hour was meant for an emergency board meeting at midnight. š
You spend all day exhausted, crawl into bed thinking youāre finally going to sleep, and the second your head hits the pillow:
"Did I lock the back door? Also, why is every C in Pacific Ocean pronounced differently?!"
If thatās been happening to you, youāre not crazy.
Most of the time, we donāt have a sleep problem. We have a transition problem.
We run around all day taking care of everybody else, fixing problems, scrolling on our phones, and doing twenty things at once. Then we jump straight into bed and expect our brain to just magically shut off like a light switch.
Our bodies just arenāt built to slam on the brakes that fastāespecially in menopause, when sleep already feels like a full-time job.
When your brain gets noisy the second you close your eyes, itās not broken. Itās just asking for a little runway.
Tonight, give yourself a minute before bed. Dim the lamps, flip the phone face down, and let your body actually catch up before you expect it to sleep.

This morning I had the glorious opportunity to receive some scalp therapy from Second Spring Hormone and Scalp Studio! From start to finish the whole experience was amazing. I walked away having learned so much about my scalp (I even got to see close-up pics of my hair follicles) and left with a plan for going forward. I am someone who has suffered from thinning hair & hair loss the last few years so being able to learn more about solutions/care for my hair was such a treat.
Not to mention the head spa experience was so luxurious and almost put me to sleep a couple of times! š. I left feeling relaxed & rejuvenated. Do not wait to treat yourself to some scalp therapy! xoxo, Jess

I thought becoming the best version of myself would involve better boundaries and a little inner peace. Apparently, it also involves investigating smells nobody else can find. š
In the kitchen. On the porch. Halfway through a perfectly nice walk. Suddenly, Iām the neighborhoodās unpaid smell detective.
Anyone else ever asked, āDo you smell that?ā and gotten nothing but confused looks?
New or persistent phantom smells deserve a check-in with your healthcare providerādonāt automatically blame menopause.

Why does your scalp feel sunburned when you haven't even been outside? š„
If your scalp has been burning, prickling, or feeling tender (sometimes so sore that even moving your part hurts), you're not imagining it.
It's called trichodynia. It's one of those midlife symptoms most of us were never warned about. Shifting hormones can leave the scalp more sensitive and reactive, and that can show up as burning, soreness, and oil that can't make up its mind.
It's frustrating, and it's real. š
If it's been going on for a while, mention it to your healthcare provider so other causes can be checked.
