Protect your locks this summer with these simple tips.

We are all so excited for the summer. While trips and beach days are on our agenda, so is making sure that our hair is protected and nourished. With scorching hot temperatures, chlorine-filled pools, salty beaches, unavoidable sweat and more, it’s critical that you protect your hair to ensure that it gets as much as attention as our skin does in the summer. To help you out, Im sharing 2 key tips to ensure that you have healthy locks this summer.

1. Break Out The Hats!
By now we all know about the damaging effects that the UVA and UVB rays from the sun has on our skin. You’ll also have to protect your hair this summer as the sun can dry out your locks and damage the cuticle of your hair (outer layer), causing your hair to thin, get frizzy or split. A simple solution is to wear a hat. We love big, floppy summer hats, but any will do to protect your hair this summer.

2. Use Leave In Conditioner
One of my favorite things to do to my hair post-pool/beach day is to wash and condition my hair so I can get rid of the chemicals and sand from the day. Then, I love to apply some leave-in conditioner like a Light Leave-In Cream formula that works to prevent breakage and make the hair stronger, which is key in the summer. Plus, you’ll love how smooth and manageable your hair will be the next day.
