In July of 2022, some crazy events happened within my family, and from that turbulence set forth an abundance of change. To my friends and family that have stuck around and with me since all of this started - I can't thank you enough, but also can't believe you still give me a chance! This has been a few of my endeavors for my business(es), and for the city of Flint the past few years.

In August of 2022, I pitched a recreational business idea to 100K Ideas while starting up a mini side hustle - selling skin exfoliants and body cremes. This was my endeavor to still make some money while raising a small human, being a wife to a hard working but always working man, attending full time classes at Mott Community College, massaging for a gym, and massaging my own personal clients.
In October of 2022, I partnered with Pennys Cafe in the Market to sell skin care exfoliants that were blended with her cold brew coffee beans. This partnership lasted for several months until she transitioned with Rootless Coffee Co. Thank you, Becky!
In November of 2022, I partnered with a yoga instructor and started holding events around the city of Flint to offer yoga and chair massage for our community. This partnership allowed us to hold community events at the Flint Farmers' Market, Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Mott Park Recreation Area clubhouse, BAU - HŌUSE, and Blue Bell Beach.
In January 2023, I received a letter from Central Michigan University accepting me to their school for a program I really desired, along with a few scholarships. I transferred my enrollment to Summer 2024, knowing my year would not allow me to travel that much.
Also in January 2023, I received back the market research binder from 100k ideas. This started the overhaul of searching for a location and finding the right architect/construction team to work with.
In February of 2023, I started my endeavor of looking for a location to open up for 81Ohm.
In March of 2023, I reached out to the director of the Genesee County Parks, as well as the director of the Crim Fitness Foundation.
I pitched to the parks to let me start teaching SUP yoga classes on Mott Lake. I pitched to the Crim to create a rolling timeline yoga class during the Crim races.
Both proposals were accepted.
In June 2023, I donated over 300 samples of Fresh Coast Collections body care to a fundraiser held by Mclaren Hospitality House. I also had the opportunity to do chair massage for the attendees.
In July of 2023, I had a follow-up meeting with climbing construction company DÉLIRE Climbing Walls.
In August of 2023, the Crim held their first ever recovery yoga event for racers before and after their run. I was able to be on the support team for the amazing instructors the Crim provides.
Also in August, I had the opportunity to work with Harris Family Health for her Youth Health Summit. This opportunity allowed me to partner with her expanded wellness clinic, which will be open late winter/early sprint 2024.
In September of 2023, I held my last class of the paddleboarding season. I had 41 customers that season, which may seem low to some, but it was 0 the season before, so I'll take it.
I contracted with Serenity House Communities and provided chair massage at the annual SUD conference in Lansing. This contract has led me to a wonderful mentorship and has allowed me future contracts with her organization.
In October of 2023, I started working more with a community development team to gain more insight on the available commercial space for 81ohm, and the 100kidea endeavor.
In October of 2023, I started replanning how to transition Fresh Coast Collections from an LLC. to a non-profit organization. The creation of this would promote and able convicted persons a career pathway in the field of skin care and wellness.
In November of 2023, I celebrated one year of holding chair massage and yoga classes at the Flint Farmers' Market.
Craig and I started working with Nosotros Rock Climbing Gym climbing company more after a few introduction meetings. We received our proposal and have scheduled to create our rendering.
In December 2023, 81ohm added sound bath therapy to our community classes.
I turned inward, regrouped, and started rebranding what 81oh would look like next year and in 10 years.
I contracted a website builder to streamline future massage bookings, memberships, and SUP classes.
I was hired at GISD Base Camp Challenge Center part- time to learn with a wonderful organization. I plan to soak up all this information for my future career as a Therapeutic Recreational Specialist and business owner.
I hired a business consultant, to learn and to grow.
81ohm partnered with Market Tap to provide weekly chair massage on Tuesday evenings January 2024 - March 2024.
January 2024, I applied for graduation at Mott Community College. All thanks to the scholarship I received for doing medical massage during .
I finalized the previously stated partnership with Dr. Harris and attended her year anniversary at the Northbank Center.
I proposed a location for the SUP 810 seasonal paddleboard business and hold my first round of interviews next month.
I submitted a revised business plan to contacts that may lead me to possible investment.

There is so much more within the spaces in-between. But this is where I've been, all that "free time" 24 hrs. 7 days a week can give us. Writing this all was so much yet is the smallest piece of me. If anything happens within my family, this all gets dropped for them. When I need self-care, this all goes on pause. When I get dogged by friends for being late or never around, THIS is why. Dreams happen to all of us, but acting on them only happens to a few of us. When that dream takes hold nothing else matters until the vision is tangible. I see my friends who are doing what I do. Not anything specific to my story, but I see who you are. Thank you for that giving grace. Thank you for allowing me to build a family, a dream, a life, and fill my spaces in-between. To the people who continue to check up on me, though we have become distant, I hope you are well, I hope you know you are loved, and I hope your dreams come true for you, too.
Let's see what 24' gives us.

I have been massaging bodies for 11 lucky years. In that time I have heard almost every ailment/condition/disease under the sun.
Those complaints pushed me to read about aromatherapy, and the benefits of essential oils Additionally I learned alot about the benefits of heat, cold, and what type of massage is best for you for that day.

I created Fresh Coast Collections to offer the extra self care boost needed within our jam packed schedules between massage appointments.

I will be back in Flint at the Mott Park Clubhouse this upcoming weekend, December 2nd from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. offering chair massage, and some of the self care products I have created with the knowledge I have learned in the past decade.

Thank you for supporting my small business(es).

These are a stepping stone to a much larger dream of Flint, and every purchase supports these big dreams of mine for a place that has given me a whole new meaning to life, and love.❤️

300 samples were given to the women of the Nights Of Hope event, hosted by McLaren Flint.
We were so grateful to be able to put a little slice of love in each goodie bag. These women, organizations, and sponsors raised over $50,000 that will be used to help deliver 5 star care to cancer patients and their families while receiving care at McLaren Flint.
We can't wait to he a part of the next event, and we hope everyone enjoyed their sample of our flowerpatch exfoliant.

As a woman owned business, we take International Women's Day pretty seriously. As a mother, it hits me right in the gut. I spend many hours watching my daughter play while I am creating Fresh Coast products, working as a massage therapist, and furthering my education as a student. There are many nights I think about all that I missed that day with my girl. When morning comes and she wakes up, I am reminded of why I work this hard. My goals are not just for me; they are for HER. She will know that she is capable of anything while at the same time learning she can't do everything at once. She will learn pride, grace, and compassion from watching me be the woman I want to be.

I celebrate women today, proud of them for breaking the glass ceiling. I'm grateful to be a member of the girl gang.

It is amazing to look back at where we were just a few months ago! Our packaging may have changed, we may have added new products (check our website) but our mission has always been the same. We want you to feel good about your skin, use products that are sustainable, clean and good for Mother Earth. Our coffee-based products are made with coffee roasted in Flint before being used in lattes and espressos served in the Flint Farmers Market. After, being used to make delicious drinks, we repurpose them one more time in our products.

If you love coffee, soft skin, and a little caffeine buzz than you will love our Caffeinaked scrub!
Have you tried any of our products yet? Tell us your favorite!
