I lost 85 pounds with a healthy lifestyle change! NOT a diet.

This page is a place where I can update you on my progress, give some tips, and answer any questions you may have.

💥 Boom!
Done.

One of my sweatiest sessions this year. And it felt SO. GOOD.

25 minute intervals of run/incline walk on the treadmill. 10 minutes of cardio. And 5 on the row machine.

Wanted to do more, but have a busy day and still wanted to get the workout in. So glad I did!

I made this page and I never even used it 😂

FB was wanting me to pay for people to see my posts so if you see this please “like” it!

I’m going to start using it to keep myself accountable because I didn’t want to use my personal fb for that anymore.

So hello there 😁 I haven’t wanted to post and be vulnerable and not back up what I was saying so I was waiting. Making sure I stuck to my goals. I’ve been back in the gym consistently for a little over a month. Well I should say working out consistently, some of those days were just walks outside.

Today in the gym I’ve had lots of thoughts that I wanted to share of things I wish I knew in the beginning.

I’m completely self taught. I have never had a trainer. I educated myself on muscles and which exercises targeted those (pst! That’s how I got where I am now back in school..) but when I was in school for the fitness classes and the professors found that out they were pretty impressed. It’s been a lot of “live and learn” but that’s my story.

So anyway here I go

1. It’s going to be hard in the beginning. Your mind is trying to keep you “safe” from “harm”. Push past this. Find things that you can tell yourself that are motivating. Mine is “no pain no gain” (this came from my dads swim coach) and other positive things. I google when I need inspiration. Over time this becomes easier. (Not EASY, but EASIER)

2. Nothing happens overnight. It took me 3 years to get from a size 20 to a size 8. Then Covid happened and I actually ran off my muscle. (Yes you can do this) I didn’t realize this at the time. I was spinning my wheels so no wonder I got frustrated.

3. People are going to look at you at the gym. I got looked at when I was big and I got looked at when I was small. (It makes me wanna fight someone) but all you can do is focus on yourself. They don’t know your story. You are there for you. Don’t forget that.

4. Don’t know how to do something at the gym? Google it. YOUTUBE is your friend! Form is key. You need to be engaging the correct muscles in order to get the results you’re looking for.

5. Speaking of form, when I was just starting out I would watch people that were doing things I wasn’t quite sure how to do. BUT I only watched people who I saw were regulars and were clearly body builder types. Don’t just copy anyone cause that’s not always right 😂💜

6. Are you full of excuses? Check yourself. There will always be a million reasons “why”. Stop. Make your health your priority. Having a healthy body is so important for long term health.

7. Cardio is not the only option. If you think you’re “too big” you’re wrong. I lost most of my weight from weightlifting. Actually Lifting weights helps burn fat faster than cardio does.

8. Nutrition is important. Protein is extremely important if you’re weight lifting. BUT it isn’t everything. I got a little too strict with myself and that’s how I fell off the wagon. I limited myself too much and went a little crazy when I wasn’t limiting myself anymore.

9. Are you a stress eater? Me too. I’ve learned over time that if you replace that with something it’s a whole lot easier to manage. I replace stress eating with the gym. ENDORPHINS are a wonderful thing.

10. ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS: NO ONE CARES WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE AT THE GYM! If you are not sweating you are NOT DOING IT RIGHT. period.

I love motivating people! If you have any questions I’m an open book! Please don’t hesitate to ask 💜

Here’s some pics but not very many cause I’m been focusing on ME 🥰

It’s a marathon, not a race! TRUST THE PROCESS!
It took me 5 months to lose 60 pounds! It took me a year and a half to lose the next 37 🤪🤪
But this is why I take pictures because it’s not always about the scale. There’s 4 pant sizes in between the middle picture and the right one but only 10 pounds.

Everyone’s journey looks different. All that matters is that you START and never look back. It’s going to take hard work. It’s going to take determination. It’s going to take a lot of grace and self love.
But we only have one life, Why not make it the best one??!💫

Make sure to follow my fitness page: .fitness . Always open to any questions! I only want this amazing feeling for everyone else that wants it too 💕💕

One thing about this lifestyle is “always be prepared “
I don’t always feel like cooking. Especially since it’s just me. Those were usually the nights that I went through the drive through or had pizza or chicken strips.
But now I have a few quick easy go to meals that I like to keep on hand. I went on a run (3rd time this week!) and came back and wasn’t feeling like standing any longer.
It takes 5 minutes to cook the chicken&veggie potstickers and I like to keep fruit in a bowl handy. This whole meal is around 400-500 calories. And fresh pineapple tastes like candy 😋

I was craving a burger and fries. So what did I do? Take your favorite things and make them healthy!
I cut up sweet potatoes.. seasoned them with chili powder, cumin, garlic salt and pepper. And stuck them in my air fryer.
I mix 90% lean beef with turkey burger. (I don’t like just turkey burger 🤢) I season my meat with A1 steak sauce, Montreal steak seasoning, and garlic and onion powder.
I also LOVE BREAD so I like to use these sandwhich thins. Because what’s a burger without a bun?
MAKE IT YUMMY and you won’t feel deprived!

One complaint I hear a lot is “eating healthy is expensive”. Yes, it CAN be. But so is eating out. So is getting fast food for the 3rd time this week because you don’t feel like cooking. It all adds up. Wouldn’t you feel better knowing the food you’re putting in your body is good for you? Won’t make you sick? Sluggish?
Before I changed my lifestyle I was getting sick 7-8 times a year. I thought it was because I had asthma. I’ve been sick 2-3 times in the last (almost!) 2 years. I also had many other health issues, my doctor just told me I needed to lose weight. That’s reason number 19247 I did this. To see if he was right. Having a healthier lifestyle will actually end up saving you money.

Always here for any questions! 💜

FOOD.
This was my dinner tonight. BBQ Chicken, Chicken rice and Brussel sprouts.
I use half sugar free bbq sauce, half regular with kickN’ chicken seasoning. I use low sodium chicken rice. I love Mrs Dash salt free seasoning literally on all my veggies. And cheese adds +10 points. Learn how to cook using flavor, not salt.

The biggest thing that I did was I changed my relationship with food. Food doesn’t make you happy. Eating your feelings will only make you fat. Food is just meant to FUEL us and help us be healthy. Yes, there are things that are really YUMMY, but those things are meant for MODERATION. I had to learn that. Moderation is key.
I first started out with weight watchers. It taught me portion control and I started reading labels. 4 months after being on it, I used what I learned and have done my own thing ever since. I’ve just watched my salt and sugar intake... and calories. That’s been my biggest thing. Processed food and fast food are killing America. We are not meant to have those things all the time. I still have Taco Bell. I still have Ben and Jerry’s Ice cream. But those things are a treat! I have a cheat day. Sunday. If I want something... if I keep thinking about it and craving it. I have it on Sunday. Then I reset on Monday and start over with my eating healthy.

*my portions are a little bigger than they used to be because I weight lift 4 days a week and am trying to fuel my muscles 💪🏻 *

Hey guys! I made this page because I still feel like a lot of people aren’t really sure what all that I did, and still have questions.. or don’t think they have a life that they can do what I did. That’s why it’s a lifestyle change. You change things that work for YOU. ANYONE can do anything they put their mind to! You just have to believe in yourself. Find the determination!
I’ll be posting all my tips here. From Food.. to workouts.. to Mental Health. It’s all so important for our well being.

I had accepted the fact that I would be morbidly obese for the rest of my life. I had just been big my whole life. I got bigger when I was 13, and the scale and sizes just kept going up. Until I was 26 and I was a size 22 and 270 pounds. I had officially become a problem to myself. You know what gave me hope? Seeing the Instagram and Facebook posts of women losing those 100ish pounds and KILLIN’ it! I wanted to know what that felt like. Eventually I got sick and tired of being sick and tired and I DID IT. I put my heart and soul in it and I never looked back. Was it easy? Hell no. Was it as terrible and horrible as I thought it would be? Hell no.
Give yourself a shot. Don’t you think it’s worth it?
