What is a hair extension “maintenance” appointment, and how long does it take??

Maintenance appointment 👉🏽👉🏽because your extensions grow out as your natural hair grows out, every 8 weeks a maintenance or “moveup” appointment is needed to remove the hair extensions, color them + your hair to make sure the blend is seamless, and re-install them

As far as how long it takes, it totally depends on what we’re doing! Generally most maintenance appointments land in the 3-4 hour range when doing color + a moveup— some appointments are shorter, and some are slightly longer depending on what you need done! My goal is always to provide the best possible color blend, and pay close attention to the little details, while also keeping the appointment moving along, so that you can get on with the rest of your day!☺️

They can be so annoying, right!?

I found my first sparkly white hair when I was 17. Now I’m 37, 2 kids & a husband later, and not only are there more of these glitery little tinsel strands, but my natural hair is also darker and isnt as full as it used to be!

What options do we have for grays?

1 - Do a single Gray Coverage color.
You might hear me also say, “root touch up”. I’ll add permanent color to cover grays. You can choose to add warmth to your natural color or keep it a little cooler and natural. We can do this in as little as 10 minutes with the new Koleston Express permanent color from 🥳 ✏Note: you will have more frequent appointments and the growout line is more distinct.

2 - Do a single Gray Blending color.
Using a semi-permanent color, I can add depth or change the shade/tone of your base color, while those sparkles pick up the tiniest hint of the pigment. ✏Note: you will still see sparkles but they appear to be more of a “natural highlight” look with a softer growout line and you will have less maintenance than the Gray Coverage color.

3 - Do a Partial Highlight color.
I place foils or balayage in a pattern similar to how your grays show up, then tone them to compliment your base color. This allows you to camouflage the sparkles in a sea of gorgeous blonde. You can also choose to add option 1 or 2 if you want to blend/cover more grays at the same time. ✏Note: you will still see some sparkles but they will blend beautifully with the highlights and the grow out line is softer.

I know sometimes that clients want to be super blonde but they dont want tons of frequent retouch visits. That's perfect, neither do I!!!! This type of blended blonde is the solution!
