If you’re installing clip-ins and want maximum volume, stop applying a singular weft in the center of your head. Instead, take that center section and split it - one weft on the left, one weft on the right, sitting right next to each other.

Here’s why it works: when you layer wefts directly on top of each other in the same spot, they compress down and actually flatten your hair. But when you separate them side by side, each weft is sitting on its own section of hair with its own lift point. That means both wefts are working independently to push volume upward, giving you that full, rounded shape instead of a flat, heavy middle.

One of the biggest curly extension mistakes? Placing your side wefts too far back 👀

For the most natural blend, your side wefts should sit closer to the front of your hairline - especially around the temple area - instead of being placed too far toward the back of your head. This helps fill out the sides properly and creates a smoother transition between your natural curls and the extensions.

If they’re too far back, you can end up with gaps, uneven volume, or that “something looks off” effect without realizing why.
