Tomorrow, May 6, 2026, marks National Nurses Day and the beginning of Nurses Week, a time when nurses across the country are honored and recognized for the care, compassion, and dedication they give every day.

But as we celebrate today’s nurses, we also ask...who is honoring the nurses of the past?

The Deep East Texas Nurse Honor Guard is proud to recognize several Pine Crest residents who are retired nurses with a special Living Tribute tomorrow at 2:00 PM. These remarkable individuals have paved the way for the profession we know today, and it is our privilege to honor their legacy.

Families are warmly invited to attend. Light refreshments will be provided.
