Family Hiar Salon in West Frederick Maryland Rosa Le Portner, owner of Rosa Le's Family Hair Salon, said she came to the U.S. five years ago from Peru.
"I went to the library, and they helped me find books that showed me what I had to do to get a license and to open the business," Portner said. She worked as a hairstylist in Frederick and Thurmont before opening her shop at 1306 W. Patrick St. in the Golden Mile Shopping Center. The shop offers services including color, highlights, perms, waxing and natural nails, no acrylics. Portner has an assistant and a stylist working in the shop as well.
