I get asked all the time, “but what’s a product I could find at a discount store that I can use instead of buying this pricier product you’re recommending me?” Let’s break down this question.

As you see in these photos, we have a retinol serum that is only $5 but the ingredient “retinol” is second from the bottom of the list.
Let me introduce you to ✨The 1% Rule✨
There is something in cosmetics called the “1% line”
- basically, everything after a certain point in the full list of ingredients of a product is under 1% concentration. The higher concentration of a product should be higher on the list, more towards the top.
Back to the images provided, there is retinol in this product, you are correct. You may in fact experience results, however these results will take extra time, lots of patience and you may not receive the exact results you were hoping for. That is why when you get recommended a product that is more on the pricey side, rather than an item at the discount store, it is because the product has a higher concentration of the ingredient you are looking for, guaranteeing better, quicker results. Our estheticians aren’t trying to “scam” you into buying a pricier product. They are really trying to help you work towards the results you’re looking for and it’s really hard to accomplish that with a product that’s cheating out on the main ingredient.
